Some interesting buys and prices there. Really can't predict 17yo prices these days. Lucky I don't sell or boy trainees in, just train the local Jaffna boys.

Pretty good start to FC on Day One v Bideford Haymakers

First Innings of: Jaffna Jets 5/337(110)
Muralitharan 111(168), Ellis 68*(136), Hilton 58(174), Lucas 57(134), Bruce 3/62(27)

Wouldn't surprise me if we get rolled for under the 360 mark. Big innings there by Murali, really need a few more of those innings from him this season if we are going to be competitive in both forms, now he is our best batsmen. Hilton batted great for prof/fee at No 3. If he can keep putting together those innings and shielding our lower middle order. He might have a big future at the club in FC atleast.

Ended up going to Sri Lankan NT post. After getting more into building the database of Sri Lanka's top 20-22 players. I sort of got the bug back about wanting the manage a NT side. It been quite funny I asked some managers to change nets for NT hopefuls and most have said yes.

Not really sure what to make of it all though, no real major competition yet. The previous manager hasn't re-applied. But I haven't had any questions for like 12 hours, as haven't any of the other guys. Not sure if it is sign that Sri Lanka very inactive, no cares or they just waiting for big name manager to apply. Had a look at previous campaigns and we never had much activity around election time. The threads with the most posts are usually the ones from overseas managers that never post and just think the can win the election cus we are small. All the posters just blast the living crap out of them.

Oh well get the sence that bigger name manager will apply over the next couple days and I want get the gig. Should probably get a better idea in a couple days time.

Someone's been venting their spleen through the commentary:
88.6 1 Benamar to Janes
Did I ever tell you the story about the ASP page that did not handle errors? No? The story begins a long time ago, on a server in Sweden. The star of our story is... you know what? I'm boring myself here. Let's get back to the cricket.

Nate

You'll Never Walk Alone
Am playing the demoted Div 4 side away.

declaration of war - 437/5 off 110 overs
Graham 122 (156)
Scholtz 103 (157)
Borrowdale 94* (164)
Brough 54 (69)
Smart 4/90 (27)
Hindle 1/79 (20)

As good as they are, am probably a little disappointed. Will be relying on Smart and Hamlin this season for everything, so his performance was positive. But Greene and Holmes should have delivered something. To be fair, it's a H&F deck and sunny weather. Anyhow, hopefully we can get Borrowdale out cheaply tomorrow and then get all our batting points. Maybeh. :)

EDIT: Actually, a proper look at the team suggests they're ridiculously gun. Fairplay to Smart.

Playing the demotee from div IV. Reached my declaration target of 400 with only four wickets down in perfect seaming conditions, to give Oleary precisely one over at their openers before bedtime. Can he set the ball rolling?

Dot ... dot ... WICKET! ... dot ... dot ... dot. Good old Oleary.

Good day, that. Big hundreds from Bromby (163) and Janes (134) made a mockery of the conditions, and against a sound bowling attack, too.

In control against a bot to start off my campaign.

BEST Indies 534/9 (110.0)
Whibread 96 off 118

An easy win here surely, but a lot of tough matches to come in FC this season.

Someone else made a similar joke, cbf googling it.
I hope for your sake he's a better cricketer than he was football manager.
I think that's the one!

Anyway, having been demoted and still playing mostly my reserves in the first First Class game of the season, I scored 604-4 declared (Adu 304(308), Candappa 133* (115)) and have the oppo 4 - 2.

Gonna have to work to get this one to last 3 days, I reckon.

The Flying Wickets: 145 (58.5) Turner 4/37 (19.5), Woods 3/25 (14)
The Heath CC: 128/3 (51) Caldwell 73 (162), Kepler 18* (95)

A terrific bowling performance from Turner and Woods was backed up by a solid start to our own innings. Caldwell's gutsy knock helped us reach 73 for no wicket, before Mclean departed. Caldwell was ousted with the score on 117 and Kemp went first ball but Kepler's uncharacteristically limpet-esque innings saw us to the close without losing any further wickets. With the strength of their bowling attack, I can't see us making any batting points but I wasn't expecting us to be remotely competitive, let alone very much in the driving seat at the end of the first day, so I'm one happy manager :)

He's ****. Why are you training him?
Cus he is ****ed manager. :p
look, i understand you guys are still learning, so i can understand your lack of understanding in this case. grady he's a gradual piece of work. i'm not expecting results from him for a while yet, nor do i need them just yet. he is a part of the growing depth within whenuapai cc. you can go on saying he is ****, or level unprovoked, personal, attacks at me, but at the end of the day, whenuapai will still defeat you both, even if all 11 players had their hands tied behind their backs. this is a fact.

51.4 W Jackman to Kepler
What a ripper from Jackman! Kepler had no chance there, it was banged in short and rared up off the pitch. It clipped his glove and Lambert did the job behind the sticks and chucks the ball into the air in celebration. Jaffer!
Nuts - 4th ball of the day. This will probably be all over quite soon. Jackman's an ex U-19 player, he's a bit good.

Jebus, Oleary and Pead are going berserk. Five wickets in the first two overs of the morning, and my opponents are 2-6 off 3 overs.

End of Over 3 (2 runs). Beveraging Free: 2-6, runrate=0.67
Trail by 400 runs. (Beard XI 402-4 dec)
Oleary 2-1-2-4
Heath* 1 (1 balls)
Keigher 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Canham c. Bromby b. Oleary 1 (FOW: 2/6)

Edit: 2-7 off 3.1...

Edit edit: innings over, having bowled them out for ... three runs. And that's not against a bot, either, this team is in Div IV OD. Hilarious. I hope I set the follow-on.

End of Over 18 (6 runs). The Flying Wickets: 34-3, runrate=1.89 (1st Inn: 145-10)
Lead by 24 runs. (The Heath CC 155-10)
Woods 9-2-18-1
Savage* 0 (8 balls)
Gittens 6 (5 balls)
Last Wicket: Grahames c. Mclean b. Woods 19 (FOW: 28/3)

My boys hung around without scoring any real runs this morning, eventually being bowled out with a lead of 10. We've taken three quick wickets but two of those were jokers opening the batting. Grahames is a good man to get though. Very much in the balance, this...
