Kolkata is very unlikely to make it now. They have three games left and all of them are against good sides - Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi. They are unlikely to win all three. They will do very well if they won two that will give them 14 points at best.

Mumbai has four games left, one each against the same three sies as Kolkata and one against the struggling Bangalore. They have a very good chance to win two of these matches. If they do that they will be through with 16 points. If one of the teams they beat id Delhi, Delhi's goose is cooked.

Chennai already has 14 points and two of the three games they have left are againt Bangalore and Hyderabad. They need to win just one of these three games.

It looks very likely that Mumbai(more likely) or Delhi will join Rajasthan, Punjab and Chennai in the semis.

I thought that the whole thing began when the RC think tank benched Misbah in favour of Ross Taylor. And Mallya fired Charu Sharma for this(amongst other things).

I dont think Misbah has done that well that the Mallya can gloat about.

Punjab need to win just 1 of their remaining four games to go through. They are playing Rajasthan, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore. They beat three (except Rajasthan) last time. There is no reason to believe they will suddenly lose to all of them.

BTW, I am not very fond of them either

Honestly, I don't think any side has played that good cricket that they deserve to win, there certainly hasn't been a clear standout. Would love to see Rajasthan take it out though, would be the essence of awesomeness.

Possibly not. How have Warne and Smith got on together?

BTW while Cam White is a T20 specialist he's performed poorly in the IPL; has been given plenty of opportunities too. Bangalore's problem is that they went for too many test dedicated players.

i guess, Mallya fired Charu as Charu gave lame excuses and Mallya was upset with the initial selection of players

Both Ross and Misbah were taken at the 2nd auction .... I don't think Mallya would be upset with Ross selection ahead of Misbah than Misbah not being in the playing 11 at all

again those stats don't tell a complete story, Misbah has not got a consistent run in the tourney and has been played on and off, iirc
