Bloody good catch there by Marshall.

Vettori gets his name up on the honours board with his 5-for. And his 250th wicket (249th for NZ).

Crowd and commentators a bit harsh on Vaughan. However, again showing why he isnt a good OD player. Forcing isnt natural.

Vettori's bowled OK, but really these figures flatter him just a tad. The last 2 wickets, then 2 batsmen lbw padding-up to straight balls.

Only Collingwood's wicket was good bowling.

Martin bowled far better and ITBT much as I don't rate him he's been underrewarded. Could easily have lead his side to a first-innings lead if he'd been given Vaughan's wicket as he should have been.

There in lies the GAME! That's what makes cricket interesting. Lot of If's & But's. Vettori got to 250w . Special moment for all the Blackcaps fan like me! :)

So, can Sidebottom and Anderson get it right?

Really do hope Redmond doesn't get a pair on Test debut, though. Horrible thing to happen to a batsman.

yes really! I was expecting Richardson like inngs from him in this series. He needs to hold at one end.

Redmond's played well the last 2 seasons and on the tour so far. He's far from a last-ditch option, and I'd be surprised if he wasn't a better batsman than Craig Cumming these days.

BTW, looking like we'll have a vaguely interesting day avatar-challenge-wise tomorrow. You'd best hope NZ fancy their own chances and hence don't take the light.

Must say I like the look of How - this is the first time I've really paid attention to him - he looks get right behind the ball which is a bit of a rarity amongst NZ batsmen.

Not a chance. NZ have absolutely nothing to gain by staying on tonight.

OK, Redmond away.

Interesting, apparently Ian Smith reckons he was a converted spinner. This must've been Hussain-esque rather than Richardson-esque, because he was certainly a batsman when he played for us in 1998.
