Fair enough. I haven't seen him in action yet, but if (as his cricinfo profile suggests) he's capable of 145kmh and can move it both ways he must be a chance, age notwithstanding. & it's not like 29 is ancient either, he's no older than a lot of guys who're still in the shake-up.He may be in good form, but I've seen him bowl on a few occassions and he's nothing more than a poor-man's Chris Tremlett. He's not young either.
Yeah, good to see. Warwicks look a pretty ordinary team nowadays, but a county scalp for the Celts is always nice.Nice win for Ireland in the FPT over the once mighty Warwickshire.
Not sure what's more comical, the notion that Plunkett and Onions are anywhere near as good as Gough and Kruis, never mind better, or that that the likes of Wiseman, Claydon, Breese, etc. are anything other than "mediocre fillers".Your bowling is basically Gough, Bresnan, Kruis and some mediocre fillers.
Plunkett, Harmison, Davies and Onions are a level above those. The only way your lot will have any real quality or something extra is if Hoggard stays out of the England side.
It would be interesting to hear from someone who's actually seen much of Onions bowling. As Goughy said elsewhere, a 25 year old with a career average around 35 isn't obviously someone to get excited about, and I'm certainly not arguing for international selection in ther immediate future, but I'd appreciate some first hand opinions as to whether his recent form (including in India) is a flash in the pan, or reflects a genuine step-up by the lad. It can happen - remember Gough stepping up from FM to fast after a bollocking from Richie Richardson when Udal was taking a few too many liberties? Not sure what's more comical, the notion that Plunkett and Onions are anywhere near as good as Gough and Kruis, never mind better, or that that the likes of Wiseman, Claydon, Breese, etc. are anything other than "mediocre fillers".
Durham's only particularly good bowler is Davies and his fitness record is abysmal.

Don't think so unfortunately - I'm just finishing Uni so I'm absolutely broke, plus I don't drive so getting there would be a bit of an effort. It's a shame, as I love the Nevill Ground. Hopefully I'll get there next season. I should be heading along to Canterbury at some point though. You going to Tunbridge Wells next week SF?
Ireland now 122/5 after losing 3 wickets in two overs.
Zero I'd think. Anyway impressive as he's been, it's only been 2 First-Class and 3 one-day matches. What chances of pattinson playing for england, form bowler of the year so far.
