I honestly don't understand WWE sometimes. Look what King of the Ring did for Booker T, that **** was money. And now they make Regal go over Punk, who taps out again? Like what the hell is the point of giving punk MitB if he's just going to get buried by midcarders like Jericho and Regal on Raw. Don't get me wrong, huge Regal fan and would accept any push they gave to him because I'd like to see more of him, but what the ****, there's so much young talent that they need to push and they give the king of the ring to a guy who has barely wrestled for the last however knows long.

I guess we should limit this to American promotions, because there are tons of Puroresu moves we could list here, and they all quite pwn most of the American moves handsomely. I'd vote for the Tiger Driver '91 or the Reverse DVD over any of the moves listed here, tbh.

Also, I know you like Edge, Matt, but the moves listed there aren't even his finishers.

Haha, I wasn't actually paying much attention, I was literally just taking every finisher/move named in the Facebook thread I was taking it from. TBH I don't think I really have time to do the Battle myself now I think about it, so I'd like to officially hand that duty over to someone else. :p Also, "Thread Closed"? WTF? Haha.

Oh, and on last night's Raw, little disappointed really. KOTR wasn't brilliant, certainly not what it could have been. Umaga's impending face turn is interesting, though. The KOTR matches were ridiculously short, the longest being Punk-Jericho at 6:21, which meant the crowd was virtually dead for half of them, including the final.

As for Regal going over Punk, I'm thinking about it in the long term - I would hope that, if there's any point to this at all, this will lead to a Regal-Punk feud as a way to get Punk onto Raw. If so, then that will do him far more good in the long run than one KOTR victory and another couple of months treading water would do. Regal is an absolute master in the ring, and will probably teach Punk yet more to add to his immense repertoire. Hopefully Punk will actually get some decent mic time, too - Regal is great on the mic, unlike Punk's last nemesis, Chavo.

Also, props to Regal for being the first Englishman ever to win King of the Ring. :D

For a while there I was trying to think of any wrestlers who used a complete geek gimmick, too.

Giga Drill Breaker should go in there as well

This HBK-Batista feud is producing some quality promos so far. Too bad it's that roid mong and not Jericho in the feud. Him and Shawn working with this same angle would've been 100X more intense and the blowoff match would've been out of this world. Right now Dave is bringing it down big time.

Seconded. While I do think Big Dave is actually doing better on the mic than he has done in a while, if you can't bring your A-game with HBK you shouldn't be there.

I think the reason why Big Dave is involved in this angle could be very simple - it's been generated out of real life. I've read suggestions recently that Big Dave was legitimately unhappy that Flair didn't choose him to face at WM, which would fit with how impassioned and almost shoot-style some of the promos have been. It would also fit with how much of a Grade-A knobface Batista seems to be.

Looking forward to the match though - would expect it to be one of the best of Big Dave's career so far.

Also very much looking forward to (IIRC) only the second Fatal Four Way Elimination Match in WWE history at Backlash. The way I see it, the reason it's been made Elimination-style is one of two things - either to make Orton look even more impressive and cement his title reign even further (which I'd hope it will be), or to make Triple H look even more impressive when he wins his 12th title (yawn).

I'm hoping for Orton to pin Triple H to retain here, stealing the pinfall from Cena, then go on to defeat Cena in a Hell In A Cell match at Judgement Day. Orton-Cena has been a great feud, but as with all great feuds, it needs closure. Cena-Edge got closure with that great TLC Match at Unforgiven '06 after lasting nearly a year - this feud has followed a similar pattern, so it makes sense to end it with the match they were planning for Cyber Sunday '07 before Cena got injured.

Me and 3 mates (and Sledger, I believe, in a strange coincidence) now have tickets to the SmackDown/ECW taping as part of the Survivor Series Tour, in London on November 10th. My first live WWE event, can't wait.
