Nah, Newport play Conference South so no chance.

Conference effectively 5th division now anyway. At least that's what I tell myself.
Why's that? Do you have a team that you support in the Conference?

Ah, Cambridge U is it?

Michel Platini's rant

Would agree with that idea TBH or have a way of making a club pay compensation to another, even though it is abroad.

On another note, according to L'Equipe, Mathieu Flamini will leave Arsenal and join Juventus on a Bosman and the other one is that Emmanuel Eboué will be a Milan player. Would rather play for Arsenal then AC Milan TBH.

Great debut season for ole Showboat, nutmegs galore. Then he showed his true colours and became utter shocking, however last couple of years he's become a solid, dependable backup... Handy player to have on the bench due to versitility. Not a bad keeper either. And miles better than Wes Brown.

Got away with it first half tonight, thought Roma were the better team untill we nicked the goal, Ronny proving he really is an alround player, header any centre back would be proud of (and better than Wes's the other week, though he barely counts as a footballer). Dominated second half, could've had more goals tbh.

Nice to see Mikky back on the bench, nasty injury at the start of the year, glad to see him over it. Hope he gets a good run of games between now and the end of the year, then we might get more than 50p for him in the summer. Like i say, better than Brown anyday (yes, rather have Mikky at RB than carrot top)
What's with the Wes Brown hate? Did something to someone you know? Don't think Silvestre will be sold unless Ferguson feels Evans is ready.

Never rated him as more than an average defender. Wouldnt hold that against him if he wasnt so much of a **** off the field. Stupid wage demands, holding the club to ransom over his contract, then doing the same again 4 years later because he's had a run in the team whilst Neville's injured. Also met him a few times, **** when sober, total **** when drunk.

Least he didnt tell us to '**** off' like Roy Carroll did (and thats when he was trying to buy some clothes of us, gratitude eh).

Thats why some players who havent been good for us, such as Fletcher, O'Shea and Smith when we had him, get my respect, because there actually pretty decent guys with their feet on the ground and deserve all the success they get. Darren Fletchers actually a pretty humble and sound guy, so i always wish him luck.

Best footballer i've ever met was Robbie Fowler though, walks into the shop to a barrage of abuse from one or two of the Utd fans (bearing in mind he's played for Liverpool, City and Leeds), and he had a great laugh with us whilst his missis spent his cash. Fair play to the fella.

AS for Silvestre, reckon we'll be seeing more of Pique and mebbie to a lesser extent Evans next season, think he's surplus tbh.

Still though, your arguments about his talent is pretty much wrong anyway. Agree with the second post but Pique has no bearing on Silvestre leaving or not. Evans is the player who plays the positions Silvestre plays.

U's, please. But yeah, been my little "pat-on-the-head" team for donkey's years.

Only team ever to go from Division 4 to Division 1 in consecutive years, trivia fans.

Eboue can go with my blessing. He's really not very good. Flamini would be a big miss tho, but.

Swansea went from Div 4 to Div 1 and back again within 8 years. Wiki claims there was a consolidation season in Div 2 though before they went up again.

Ah, but my trivia's a clever con. Cambridge have never played in the top flight. Went from Div 4 to 3 to 2 on the bounce, then got hammered by Leicester in the play-offs in 91/92. Prem was formed in the the close season & Div 2 was renamed Div 1.

Have a feeling we went from 4 to 2 because of the reorganisation. Only a matter of time until League One gets renamed into something like 'The Carling Mega League'.
