Where should i improve

RTDAS
Yeah, doing that with FC and concentrating on ODs. Have let it go a bit in the last few weeks admittedly being busy with some other stuff.

Am concerned about who I should buy, get rid of, train.

Also I clearly need a wicketkeeper, what should I get and how much should I spend etc?

A wicketkeeper and a bowler would be my priorities, and I'd also look at bringing Falk or Darby up the order to open along with Elmes. With $3.4m in the bank, you probably want to keep the $1.6 million to get maximum interest, so effectively you have the best part of $2 million to spend. I'd look to spend between $1-1.5million on a trainable batsman/keeper and spend the rest on a bowler.

With regard to training, I would personally put Kidd, Arthurton, Garcia and Darby all on single primary nets. Darby and Kidd could both do with their secondaries catching up so I'd put them on 1 bat/1 field and 1 bowl/1 field respectively. Arthurton and Garcia could just have their one primary net, and then you'd have two nets free to train up a wicket keeper with 1 bat, 1 wk. I have no real idea what $1.5million could get you though as there's not much on the market at the moment, but I imagine you could get something like a resp/resp/resp 18 year old with stamina for around that price.

Disagree. Id put Kidd Arthurton Garcia and Darby all on double primary nets. Would put a fielding net on Darby, as he is quite gun, and deserves the extra net. With the other net would just have a floating stamina net, going on those 4.

Dont worry about a keeper, they do barely anything in the game, develop one when this batch is over. What i would consider doing with the money is selling one of your trainees and buying another, better, younger, one. Maybe Arthurton, as he is 19.

You have me on MSN, unless you deleted me or something, always willing to help, goes for anyone. Im not the greatest knowledge or skill wise, but have been playing for a few seasons, and currently holding my own in a league that i should be coming last in.

Thanks guys.

So I should take one batting net off Elmes and put a fielding net on Darby?

I dunno, I'd say there's mileage in training Lazarus, Daniel and McSheffrey as well - they're all perfectly acceptable trainees for a new side. Might be worth giving Gillman a fitness net as well, as a prof/feeble batsman will be useful. With some stamina training, he'd still fit into my first team, which is approaching its first anniversary.

Way is the business though.

I just purchased:

Barry Wilson (1598942)

RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, strong bowling form, energetic fitness.
An attacking player with abysmal leadership skills and woeful experience.

Plays For: Lashings All Star XI
Nationality: Australia
Age: 18 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 12,883
Wages: £1,469 p/w

Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: respectable

Bowling: worthless Consistency: woeful
Fielding: feeble

My current nets are:

Bowling: Kidd x 2, Arthurton x 2
Batting: Garcia x 2, Darby x 2, Elmes
Fielding: Darby

I'm not really interested in putting him on a wicketkeeping net and Darby is a gun who is going places apparently, so I guess my question is for the two remaining batting nets, Wilson or Garcia who should I put on? Who is going further? Or should I put one batting on each?

Jermain Garcia - 18 yo, BT Rating=10,446

Wow, thats a bad starting team. Not sure where to start.

I would recommend staying with them until the start of next season, then you should buy 4 med-med 17yr olds in the first couple of weeks. Train them on 2 primary nets, in 3-4 seasons time, that will give you a base for a team. With the other 2 nets, have either stamina or fielding nets floating around. I wouldnt recommend training any of your current players on a anything, except for maybe Eddie Dave on a stamina net until like mediocre, so he can bowl for a bit longer.

Hey thanks.

Have gotten rid of most of my **** players, starting to get some money in the bank

Would it be worth putting Way on 3 bat/1 wic instead of 2 bat/1wic? If I've calculated right, he'll hit wonderful after 3 years. Is that worth it, or would it be better to use that net on someone else? (have 4 bat nets btw) And with Lazarus would 2 bowl nets be right?

Hey guys just need some advice. Having some issue with my bowling attack and my current 4th and 5th bowlers keep leaking too many runs against decent sides. Below are my 4th and 5th bowlers:

Code:
Owen Mcdonald - 21 yo, BT Rating=8,782

A cautious player with feeble leadership skills and feeble experience.

Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: abysmal Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: proficient Consistency: woeful
Fielding: abysmal
I got about a mil in the bank and I'm sure whether to keep saving up and buy a decent proficient plus bowler. Or just buy another average one and get rid of McDonald from the starting XI. Some like this;

Code:
3. John Wilkinson £8,000 (Winning Wobblers CC)
Plays for: Hop Eaters Stamina: competent W/Keeping: worthless
Age: 31 years old Batting: worthless Concentration: woeful
BT Rating: 4,474 Bowling: proficient Consistency: feeble
Deadline: 13/04/2008 14:59 Fielding: feeble
Any suggestions?

Basically, you're problem is that the 3 bowlers you've just listed have **** secondaries. You need to be looking at getting someone with consistency no less than competent imo.

I bought this guy for 500k a couple of weeks ago. Dont go spending 400k on a resp.

Also lol'd at the guys last name. Talking to Clapham and buying one.

Thought it was funny when I saw him. There was a similar guy going for 350k also, but I had to post the guy with Clapham as his last name.

Haven't had much luck with these guys with feeble or woeful secondaries, but they seem to be only ones going cheap enough to buy. I spent a mil on proficient/respectable seamer earlier in the season. He has been fairly successful, but it does seem a lot to spend on a guy that I need to replace in a couple seasons anyway.

I've found a few comp/comp/med 17yo on the market that go at the 50-80k mark, I picked up a batsmen and a bowler both under 80k. About to get an all-rounder as well for under 75k.

One of the funniest things I've seen on the market is a med/med/feeb 17yo go for more than a comp/comp/med 17yo within a hour of each other.
