It'd be nice to have a bit of stability for once though. Ponting must feel like a 3rd opener at times.
and pup must feel like a 4th

seriously dislike our batting atm :( becoming way too predictable

i predicted we'd lose a wicket at 3/120... so badly

After tonight, I am loathe to make predictions....but what the heck...

Australia will crush India on Tuesday and the lights won't get turned on. lol
I don't quote this to mock you, because heaven knows I've made some extremely bad predictions in my time (lost a bucket load on last year's CB Series), but I think you are India's good luck charm Howard. First in Sydney, and now in Brisbane.

Keep predicting an easy India loss, and maybe this ODI team will be consistent for once :p

Meh, might get slated for this but it's fairly ordinary to see lack of grace of some people more interested in sticking it to certain players, fans more interested in booing at the presentation ceremony when the player of their choice of MOTS doesn't get the award and people scrounging through I told you so posts (mb banter aside) the second the series is over. Leaves a bad taste and comes across as a touch vindictive. Whatever, expected better, I'm out.

LOL @ Hayden and Symonds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Ponting as well, he wrote in a column two days ago that India will lose 2-0.

Way to go, Chak De India!
yeah forgot to add CHAK DE INDIA to my last post.

Seriously glad this series is over, good way to finish for India.

See ya Gilli in India in a months time. Can't wait for the IPL to start now. I'm jumping on the IPL bandwagon.

Seriously mate? You've been reading these threads...

Anyway - big congratulations to India. :) They more than deserved to take something out of this tour and they were well worth their victories here. I didn't get to watch as much of either match as I would have liked but it was great to see the Indian young guns step up so brilliantly and not be intimidated by this Australian team used to sweeping all before them. Full credit to them - this young team has the potential to develop into something pretty special, and I truly hope they do.

And towering above it all - Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. The word "gun" just doesn't seem to cut it for him. I don't often exhibit happiness over the fact that I'm now 30, but the fact that I'm old enough to have seen his career in its entirety is something I'll always be thankful for.

Fair call... i don't think it would've as bad if it wasn't for Hayden's disgraceful comments. Even after the whole off field issues in the summer.... that Hayden interview was one of the worse for me.

Seriously to those ****s who were booing Bracken at the stadium... grow up and get a ****ing life... he should've been applauded.

Was disgusted when Ponting was booed at the ceremony. I'm not his biggest fan, but even I was shocked.
was he booed by both Indian and Australian crowds ?
Yeah i was bit shocked see him booed as well... don't like the guy a bit now but still shouldn't have been booed.

Now that the series is over I have a poser regarding media coverage during the series.

I think that most of the media coverage throughout this series(by both india & australia) has been extremely partisan and detrimental to the spirit of the game and relationship between two countries.

While the Australian team believes in mental disintegration, the Aussie media tries to help as much as possible by getting under the skins of opposition players by the constant muck-raking and blowing things out of proportion.

While to the Indian media, the Indian players can do no wrong(regarding behaviour on the pitch)............and some of the comments by the anchors & some ex-players are just dire(luckily its in Hindi and the Aussie channels do not catch on).

Some comments like that from Niranjan Shah.........saying "wait till the Aussie team tours India" is so bad and should not even have been printed.........I think that this is not going to be the end of this bickering between certain players......The Indian summer is going to be Part-2 of this feud, unless the media start forgetting about all this rubbish and try some damage control during the IPL games.

LOL @ Symonds. BBC website is saying he could face a ban for "assaulting a spectator", but I'd be shocked if he got one. Surely he did the authorities a favour? The stewards would have done the exact same thing. He was being responsible IMO, even if he probably only saw it as a chance to flatten someone.

yeah kind of stupid if he gets a punishment tbh, during rugby and football matches you often see the players try and tackle someone invading the pitch to the floor, dont see why it should be any different here.

Would be ridiculous if he gets a fine or a ban or whatever. Did what he should have.

If you want to look at it in depth I think the media should be split up and each of their individual performances assessed. Ie The Age, Herald, Australian, TV and radio reporting. Whilst I agree that the general output was poor and tabloid-esque, some were better than others and, The Age, for instance certainly had it's fair share of counter-Australian POV arguments presented although it had its fair share of low moments as well. Agree with the sentiment of your post though.
