nice discussion on whats 'more entertaining' in ODIs
personally, I find a Sehwag's cut going for a 6 over the 3rd man 'more entertaining' than him edging the ball to the slip .... i find Tendulkar's straight drives 'more entertaining' than Murali's ball beating the bat and him looking in disbelief as to how the ball missed the edge
over the past few yrs, the most entertaining game for me was when Ind chased that mammoth total in the 2002 Natwest final
.... And who can forget when Ind chased that 310 odd against Pak at Dhaka. Other memorable tournament for me was the WC03 and I found the games with good scores more entertaining then the low scoring affairs like Ind vs NZ at Joberg. Well, even the series b4 that WC in NZ was disappointingly from a general spectators' PoV coz of the greentops out there that produced low scoring games. Just to add, it was Tendulkar's 90 odd against Pak thats imprinted in most fans memory than the outstanding spell that Nehra, Zak & Srinath bowled against Eng
And I don't enjoy the low scoring games that you find in SL where the ball is turning a mile. Add to that the band playing some horrible music in the background, along with some bad commentary that compounds misery
But that is not to say that low scoring games don't provide entertainment. I m sure the 83WC final would have been a gr8 treat for Indians at that time, so would be the game where Tendulkar bowled 3 dot balls to Donald in the last over to take Ind into the final of hero Cup in early 90s
In general, for me, it's that 6 over the 3rd man thats 'more entertaining' than that ball that misses the edge
just my 2 cents
cheers
