Posted more out of displeasure that I fell asleep before the goals than anything else. First half was good, second half started slowly and was the ultimate killer in the end.

Interesting stuff. Probably says a lot that the clubs with low percentages of foreigners are mostly towards the bottom of the table. Not sure whether it says a lot about English players or foreign ones, though.

I think it would be interesting if I added to it - for example, looking at how British managers and overseas managers compare.
EDIT: Done - and a pretty clear difference in the number of foreign players emerges, I'd say. Fittingly, English managers sign the most English players, (non-English) British Isles managers sign the most (non-English) British Isles players and overseas managers sign the most overseas players.

Also, with the semi-honourable exception of Man U (and conversely Blackburn), clubs with inflated budgets (Liverpool, Man C, Chelsea, Arsenal, Pompey, Fulham, Wigan) sign foreigners.

Used to be anti-foreigners but tbh now I don't have much of a problem. The problem is more one of youth academies IMO. There weren't many foreigners in England in 1950 but that didn't stop us screwing it up then.

Yay, more money to ridiculously rich clubs with national team players. Fantastic. (Not that UEFA & FIFA spend them any wiser; mostly on football complexes in small island nations with a vote in presidental campaigns, it seems.)
