I'd just like to state for the record that Pompey have just signed Lassana Diarra from Arsenal, and aside from being very happy with the signing itself, I'm immensely proud that my team has got itself into a strong enough position to sign a player who's currently a first-choice member of the France side.

It wasn't too long ago when signing a player who played for France U-21s ten years previously was seen as a great achievement for us. Can't quite believe we've snapped up Diarra, TBH.

irritated by this tbh, glad he's gone to a side would like to do well, but why the hell arsenal got rid of him I dont know, having seen him play on a few occasions I thought he was a very very impressive specamin indeed, played very well in all the games he was asked to, and pretty much dominated the carling cup game against blackburn, dissapointed by his departure tbh, but fair enough and hope he does well.

as one joins portsmouth another departs...

decent signing for bolton really, i'm sure he will be missed by a lot of pompey fans, barney rubble included.
Yeah, just read about it, to be honest I'm disappointed, but to be even more honest, he wasn't playing, and as a good player and a great lad I'd rather see him go to another club and do well than stagnate on our bench and end up a journeyman.

Shame it had to be Bolton though. No-one likes Bolton.

Taylor far too good for Notlob. :-O

Good bit of business from The Arse WRT Diarra. Obviously disappointing to lose him, but turned round a quick £4 million profit on a bloke who played like half-a-dozen games for us. Can see why he wanted to go, but his status down the pecking order accurately reflected the talent ahead of him.

£4million profit? That means the undisclosed fee was £6million. Wow. Although actually, it's not even our club record so I don't know why I'm so surprised. Just can't get used to being a team that actually has money to spend, it wasn't so long ago that Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi became our record signing.

As far as I know Diarra cost the Gooners £3m, Pompey paid £5m, so only £2m profit. I'd call it a handy bit of business from both clubs TBH.

Wish Taylor had gone to Sunderland rather than Bolton. I want Keano's boys to stay up.

I'd heard £1.5m & £5.5m respectively, so it's clearly not an exact science.

And the Geordies reappoint Keggy. Oh the laughs to be had. Could've been worse though, another couple of hours and Chris Coleman would've been in the frame....
Four seasons at Newcastle, never finished below sixth - the Geordies like passion and attacking football and KK will definitely give them that - seems like an eminently sensible decision to me.

Looks like it's your week then. You get to play my shower tomorrow. Despite how surprisingly inept you have been at home since about October, I fancy you to bag about 5 against The Rams.

This season cannot finish soon enough.

Fulham sign Brede Hangeland from FC København. Is he any good Hak? James McFadden joins Birmingham. While Wigan sign former Tottenham left back Erik Edman from Rennes.

Well, he's been playing in Denmark for the past 3 years, so I haven't really seen him. I hear he took a fair step last season - had what I thought was a major clanger in the crucial WC qualifier against Turkey though.

Nihat wasn't pressured on 20 metres, got control of the ball, and shot the winner on his second touch.

Heard Tottenham are looking at signing ex Chelsea and Lyon and now Juventus midfielder Tiago Mendes. I have to ask, why? It is pretty clear he is substandard and does well in lesser leagues like France and Portugal. And how many more midfielders do Tottenham want to buy anyway?

Speaking of Juventus, Momo Sissoko and Olaf Mellberg look certainties to be in Turin before the transfer window shuts.

Well, if he's sub-standard, he's the perfect fit for Tottenham, surely:ph34r:
