*Official* English Football Season 2007-08

I've seen 3 views of it, there's the one right on the line with the posts in the way (although aren't they the width of the line anyway?)
Yes but given the post/bar is nearer the camera it will look bigger than it is in comparison with the line. I think the second one you mentioned was the one I was referring to, and I haven't seen the 3rd, so fair enough.

Having had 19 hours to cool off, on reflection we did see some decent stuff from Claude in the early part of the season, before it went totally pear-shaped.

I think when morale is so low, the first thing that goes out of the window is concentration, and that might be his big problem.

He's not on his own though in that. Derby have made so many defensive howlers this season, and usually at key times in the game - often in the last 5 minutes when all the previous hard work has been undone.

Derby are a shambles, and the defeatist attitude is there for all to see. Paul Jewell will have to exorcise it over the next few weeks, just so we can start next year in the Championship without the excess baggage.

That probably means that every one of Billy Davies's signings will be out of the door. A defeatist attitude, once established, is like a cancer - and it has to be cut out.
Wouldn't be too surpised about his problem being concentration. Not too sure Jewell will have a clearout like that. Definite personnel change though.

Eddie, I have not seen much of County this year but can you confirm that Benny Feilhaber is one of the worst players to ever play in the Premiership? I have seen him 'play' a few times this year and he was so bad it was scary.
His starts are few and far between, and that says something with our team. Has energy and, er, that's it.

Will do quite well next year in the Championship - probably about his level.

As far as being one of the worst in the Prem - nowhere near. I'm afraid I have seen a couple of dozen Derby players who make him look absolutely brilliant.

Has been raining a bit, not anything over the top. Old Trafford has a notoriously poor pitch though. Always gets like this at this time of year, never holds up for the season. Comes partially from the type of grass used (cant use normal, as the high stands mean not enough sunlight for it to grow), and partially from the fact we let rugby league cut it to shreds whenever they seem fit. We've always got a toss pitch in january after the Challenge Cup final.
Thought they would be playing at Wembly, unless they will be.

He wouldn't win the title (straight away at least), there's too much work that needs doing. He's a class manager so he might win it eventually but that's a might.

Personally, I think the messes that Liverpool and Newcastle are in are pretty amusing.

That's odd, because the Challenge Cup final is in August, and the last time it was played in Manchester was 1900. Infact, it's quite odd that the state of the pitch in January has anything to do with Rugby League at all, due to the season ending in October with the one game that actually is played at Old Trafford. Don't think that one game is any excuse tbh. There are plenty of grounds used week in week out by both rugby league teams and football/union teams, and they hold up ok-ish.

It's definitely used for some sort of Rugby quite a lot, though as I'm Rugby illiterate I have no idea what.

One game. The Super League Grand Final every October. One game a year isn't going to wreck your precious pitch for the whole season is it?

It's more than one game, definitely. As I said though I have no idea what, it's possibly non-competitive, or Union/League, or whatever.

Hmm, thats the one i was thinking off, and your missing the point. Our pitch is shocking anyway. The rugby just cuts a poor pitch to pieces, and it never recovers. Thats why it looks nice in August, but come january were playing on a crap bobble filled turd hole.

I thoight Macnhester United owned Old Trafford anyway, so surely it's up to them that decides to hold a non-football game there anyway? Unless I'm mistaken...

Nothing to do with the 20-odd football games played there in that time?
