Not sure either when he qualifies to play for England but its got to be soon i reckon its about 5 seasons now since he has been with Arsenal but i could be wrong. But he has improved a great deal his keeping this season has been top-class once he keeps improving he should definately be England's #1 between now to the 2010 WC. While hopefully home-ground blokes like Carson & Foster keep improving & challenge him.

Big day 2moro in football of course The superclassico & the Milan derby, if they are anything like last years encounters that would be brilliant. Tipping Real & Inter to win..

Heard on the commentary that Manuel Almunia will soon be able to qualify for England and switching loyalties to playing for England rather then Spain. David Platt and somebody else were commentating for the match.

For starters I'm not sure when Almunia does qualify and if Capello does deem him good enough, not that any English fans can really complain since it appears it is law to pick cricket and rugby teams with players born elsewhere (how many players come from either South Africa or the Caribbean?) IMO.
He was actually asked about it in Sky's interview after the game. He said he still had a year to go but was shyly welcoming of it. He basically said "we'll see what happens".

If he's good enough (I personally don't think he is, FWIW, but our keeping stocks are very low just now) I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Anyne hear Sol Campbell's comments about abuse from the terraces? Good old Chris Greenacre had the right response.

"I was very surprised to hear that. if I was going to let abuse get to me, I might as well give up now. We played Port Vale last week, and as a former Stoke player I daren't repeat some of the things that were said to me, but I'm sure if I was on £100k a week it would soften the blow."

love Greenacre.

Sol's always seemed to be mentally fragile. The bloke's not an idiot tho, he must've known that if he leaves one club for their main domestic rivals in a way that looks not unlike he's doing it for the money, he's never going to be forgiven for that.

I'm sure the same principle applies to this as it does to Murali having a sook about about the "no-ball" chants too; the fans know it gets to him so they're only going to continue doing it.

Ain't seen it, but the Beeb site calls the penalty "Needless" 8-)

Plus side; Chavnaldo's my captain in the dream team comp this week.

In other news, Newcastle are gash. How we failed to beat them is beyond me. Rozehnal is possibly an even worse defender than Lardarse Bramble and that's not a sentence I bandy about lightly...

Be good result for football if yer Rams hang on. :)

EDIT: Why don't I just shut my big fat mouth... Fat Aussie waster.

Was a good watch. Predictably Derby choked. No point them signing anyone decent in January.

How many countries get 9,000 for matches between 94th and 100th on the pyramid?

That was torture, and I only followed it on Sky Sports News. God bless Martin Rice.
