I always thought Shane O'Mac had incredible grapefruits to take those painful looking moves he did take. KOTR '00 comes to mind. He also did crazy elbow drops off the craziest places, like the Titantron or a ladder in the ring onto the announcer's table. His Mac Terminator is pretty awesome too, even if it pales in comparison to the original.

He always looked dead after those moves, and I don't whether to think he was actually selling that well, or to think he was actually near well killed. He's awesome though, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Too bad we'll never see him do such things again, what with him becoming a father. Good for him, though.

If Vince ever does decide to hand over the reigns to his son, I believe we'll see an awesome product. Who'd believe he was the one who actually convinced his dad to bring about the Attitude era? It's such a shame Shane and Steph's roles aren't reversed.

yeah agreed with all of that, shane o'mac put a lot of the full time guys to shame with some of the stuff he did in the ring.

I think the most brutal botch i've seen was when Joey Mercury got hit in the eye with a ladder, that looked terrible, blood actually pooring out of his face all over the place and his face/eye swollen up to make him look unrecognisable, poor sod, lost most of the sight in his left eye because of that.

Actually I'll have to correct you there - he only lost about 20% of his sight, he says so on the Ladder Match DVD. He's still wrestling, had a trial with TNA recently.

Although having said that, the botch was still horrific - I have Armageddon 2006 on my PC and the Ladder Match DVD, so I've seen that match plenty of times and it never gets any less nasty.

haha indeed indeed, I have the ladder match DVD, but i couldnt remember exactly what he said about his loss of sight lol, good DVD actually, funny how in the eddie/RVD ladder match they cut out the bit where the fan ran into the ring and pushed over the ladder with eddie climbing it, also funny thing about that DVD is on the commentary for certain matches (i.e. the ones when the company was still WWF) the commentary has obviously been dubbed over in places, the Smackdown TLC being the most obvious, with Michael cole saying one sentence in one tone of voice, then another in a different tone about 2 seconds later, good collection of matches on there though, glad i bought it.

I never saw the original version of that Eddie/RVD match, I never knew there was anything cut out! So a fan just ran in and knocked Eddie off the ladder? Crazy stuff. Don't suppose the original's on dailymotion is it?

Never noticed the commentary being different TBH, didn't pay too much attention. Will have a look.

Incidentally, I've also watch the Ladder Match DVD with the commentary in French, and its actually a lot more entertaining. The English commentators are so concerned with trying to put people over sometimes that they aren't that entertaining, whereas the French ones can just call the match, plus they're actually very good at it. Plus the French play-by-play guy has a hilarious way of introducing Y2J - he recites all his nicknames and then whispers his name at the end of it, its awesome.

Also, I found out yesterday that the French word "Grenier", as in Sylvain Grenier, means "to be grumpy" or "to be upset", which amused me. Good choice of ring name by the lad.

Ah yeah I totally forgot about that, that was so brutal. The thing that got me was just how quickly his eye bruised and swelled up, like literally 2 seconds and he looked like he'd gone 10 rounds with Calzaghe or something.

And yeah Shane o'Mac is seriously God, love him so much. Every single match he's ever had on PPV's has been awesome, and the crazy leaps from the titantron are probably the craziest thing anyone has done in WWE. What makes it worse is that he did it twice, once against Steve Blackman and once against Big Show. God damn nutter xD

IIRC, the fan hopped the rail while Eddie was up the ladder and got in the ring and tried to push it over, and Eddie just jumped off and twatted him in the face while the security guards held him. It was pretty funny

Haha, reminds me of WM this year when some guy ran into the ring before Cena/Michaels. They cut away from showing the guy for longer than a second or so, but Michaels sat on the turnbuckle and waved goodbye to the guy as they carried him off, and the best thing was JR trying to explain it all away as Michaels "trying to get in Cena's head" and giving no kayfabe reason whatsoever why Cena refrained from attacking Michaels, even though the bell had rung.

I started watching WCW when I was about....7 or 8 i think, back when Nitro came on after cartoon network shut down for the night on a friday....got into wwe around 97 and discovered ECW shortly afterwards, and been a fan ever since, although lost major interest in WWE around 2002 when smackdown and raw got independently drafted, but always been a follower/fan.

Personally it's quite a new thing for me. I was into it during the Attitude Era like a lot of people were, but I never had Sky so I could never actually watch it live, only watched my friends' DVDs and stuff. This year at Uni I had a housemate who was into it and he got me right back in, and now I like it more than he does after discovering another of my friends was really into it. I've only been a smark since about the beginning of this year, and the first time I started watching again was Survivor Series '06. So yeah, I'm pretty new, but I've been making up for lost time and catching up on what I missed.

Now I've seen that, I can point out the exact part in the edited version where it happens, I always thought there was a weird little jump in the disc at some point. Pretty funny little escapade, especially how Eddie punches him and kicks him as the security guys are taking him away. RVD just looks confused, as usual.

Cool, I didn't think there were many new fans out there. I watched WWF up until 2001. After that, I watched the odd match or two on the internet, but most of my favourite wrestlers are dead now. Sorry to be frank, but that's the sobering reality of the business.

Yeah I used to love Sting back in the day, before his whole dark persona when he used to have the ghetto ass blonde Gary Rhodes hair and the face paint and pink and orange tassles. What a gun he was Although my favourite when I was that ages was Dustin Rhodes, for reasons unknown to me know. I just remember the burning hatred I had for years for Cactus Jack 'cause he blindsided Dustin Rhodes once. Little did I know he was soon to become one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, lawl.

I watch it sporadically, mostly for amusement purposes. I can't take it seriously most of the time because of the way it's called like a proper sport, it just bugs me. But I do like watching the matches with Big Daddy because they're amusing, and also I saw a very young Dave Finlay on there once, which was pretty awesome.
