if india bat well in this inngs karthick is in danger of loosing his place in the test team other wise he might get a second inngs to redeem himself..

its almost sure they will now open with yuvraj...so we will end up with just one opener going into australia what worst thing you want.....

I just don't like this, Karthik is just definitely kept under pressure from the first match, just let him play his own game instead of every freakin selector telling him that his place is in danger. Like let him be himself for the entire series, but i know this is India and such stuff will never change, bloody hell.

3 failures and u suck??????????????????
Pretty much the first ten tests of his career have been a failure as far as batting is concerned. He has had a few good tests in SA and England but he can't continue on those forever. I think he deserves one more test but if he fails again he has to be dropped. Frankly Karthik has been incredibly lucky to be picked as a specialist batsman when he averages only 33 at the first-class level. He is only 22 and if he is as good as his supporters claim he should be able to make runs in domestic cricket and come back.

Have to feel for Akhtar. He didn't really look fit in the first test and he's quite clearly injured in this one. No Malik to fall back on either. Younis Khan is the fourth best bowler on the field - that says it all.

Great batsmen average 50 in test cricket.
Bradman averaged around twice that = legend

Great bowlers average 25.
Sami now averages twice that.

Therefore Sami is the Bradman of bowling. :notworthy

Perhaps they could've replaced Malik with Arafat? He's not that bad at batting (comparing average to Faisal Iqbal) and considerig that Akhtar & Sami were sick, out of the box thinking would've been OK.

FFS! Give poor Shoaib some nandrolene otherwise he might just faint on the pitch! :naughty:

Arafat is hardly a test class bowler and even if they would have played him i don't think it would have made much of a difference, Pakistan would be very lucky to squeeze out of this game with a draw.

They should have brought Afridi into the Test squad when Malik got injured. We would not be in nearly such a bad position with his presence in the side. Selectors' obstinancy was the only thing preventing that, imo.
