Nah mccullum is better at playing new ball than vincent.
Bat vincent at 4. plus imo mccullum is a long term top 3 batsman for us.

Based on when ive seen them play vs the new ball.Based on what exactly?
Just been looking through our international batsmens FC records. Geez most of them are dire. I would have though more than a couple of them would average over 40.
Also, how did Gillespie get in the ODI side with an average of 30 and an eco rate of 5 in List A? His FC record is good though give the man a test.
He bowled well in the first innings. Just because he couldn't hack leading the attack once the batting order had failed him. Nah. The bowlers ain't to blame for the deficiencies of the batting order. You're all holding out O'Brien as a scapegoat for the inability of the Blackcaps batting line up.O'Brien is one of the most dire bowlers I've seen. Hasn't changed since Australia played them.
Out of the batsman in our Test team it's just Fleming I think.Just been looking through our international batsmens FC records. Geez most of them are dire. I would have though more than a couple of them would average over 40.
Oh yeah. Very comparable. Also Mccullum used to bat high in the order at under 19 level successfully.
Mccullum and mills >>> papps and cumming. Real talk.Oh yeah. Very comparable.
I think I may have just pissed myself at the prospect of Brendon McCullum being the new Alec Stewart.
A Bracewell Batting line-up:
McCullum
Mills
Vettori
Franklin
Oram
Styris
Hopkins
McGlashan
Martin
Vincent
Patel

What a joke. Dream on pal.Mccullum and mills >>> papps and cumming. Real talk.
As long as they successfully open in FC first.Just reading through the comments on here about nz cricket and it seems were in for a pretty rough few years, Dont mind McCullum having a go opening in odis but test matches would be a bit tough,
Im praying that Bracewell chooses Ryder but I dont think he will. Braces seems like one of those guys that had more will to succeed than talent, and imo he wont look too kindly upon someone like Ryder with loads of talent but (in the past anyway)a dubious attitude.
He would probably favour a guy who would lay down and die for the cause rather than a better player who doesnt... I think that explains a few of his selections...
Itll be very interesting who he calls up,, whoever it is I think this series is a hopeless cause so why not blood a young guy like Ryder with nothing to lose,,,Id be happy with Broom or Nicol ( as opening candidates ) as well
Thats good news. The latest word on the street is that Tim Southee's bulked up a bit over the off season and has gained 5-10 kmph. Here's hoping he stays fit.
Oh. And the Otago coach is putting up Aaron Redmond's hand as the next cab off the rank for the openers spot.
I thought he was injured?Kyle Mills will fly to South Africa as a replacement for Shane Bond
