Don't know why teams play any more than one bowler against South Australia. Honestly you could have your keeper bowl against them and still get them for under 250. S.A. are a joke.

yep, don't know how they've failed to capitalise on all their under age success from about 3-6 years ago. they've had some fantasticly talented players come through the ranks but then some of the crapola they deliver out in state cricket just has to be seen to be believed.

remember about 3 years ago when NSW bowled them out for 29

Think it was Bracken who bowled them out not N.S.W.

Seriously, S.A. should be putting out some big bucks to buy a batsman like Phillipson or George Bailey and giving them the captaincy or something. They need a massive shot in the arm. Gillespie should be opening the batting and bowling.

yeah Bracks took 7 for 9 or something redicolous like that.

found it:
http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/australia/engine/match/284558.html

7 for 4. redicolous figures at first class level.

yeah they need to get some batting in. the bowling is fine although they really need one of Cullen Bailey or Dan CUllen to come on. whats happened to Paul Rofe?? I had big wraps for him but suddenly found himself down the pecking order on Dizzy's return to the team, and has just bowled like crud ever since. took like 9 wickets in 6 matches or something like that last season yeah?? he's a far better bowler than that IMO.

Nah, never really rated Rofe. Cullen, actually hasn't had that bad of a season so far. Will need to continue though.

Cullen has been bowling well from what i've seen.

it's very frustrating to only watch them in the one dayers. i really wish they'd have a highlights package on foxtel of the sheffield games. but then you can really only wish can you...

players, particularly spinners, play a lot differently in the 4-day games then 1-day games.

but when i saw cullen player the last one dayer against nsw i was impressed. i haven't been that impressed with him so far. i do think at the end of the day he's just another off spinner... also i wouldn't mind if he could roll his sleeves down. he looks like a grade A tosser when he does that.

The more i watch (via live internet updates mainly) Peter Forrest the more I think his never going to be OD batsmen, his scores a bit too slow. He does however look like a gun FC players for many years to come. From what I've seen of him in ODs and occasionally FC highlights he looks like his got a brillant temperment and good technique. Mind you I how he doesn't dominate too much, so he never plays for Australia.

EDIT: Gun smacks a couple fours just after I posted.

Yeah, I love Peter Forrest to bits, but he hasn't shown much to suggest he'll be a good one day player. He's only 21 though.

Forrest is an absolute gun. Repping the Hawks along with Stevie O'Keefe. Matty Mott said he's very much in the Kallis mould of batting, which can only be a good thing. On 36* at the moment.

Lambert got the nod for the opening position on his opening for fairfield last year,i guess their are no clear candidates for opener,i would like to see phillip hughes in,altho cowan has had a miserable start to the season.
Don't care how fast or slow forrest bats for NSW as long as he gets a ton of runs, don't see him as a one day player tho watching him on the tv.But that said we are now out of the race for the ford cup.

Simmons, Mail, Hughes, Cooper (bats at 3, but can open), Burke, Khawaja and Warner (again a number 3, but can open).

Plenty of opening options. even if four are rookies and one for some reason lost his contract.

Well Hughes is a natural opener apparently. I too would like to see him in a baggy blue sooner rather than later. Massively talented player. When you're hitting Murali for boundaries at 18 you must be made of something special. Excellent work ethic too apparently. Cowan will have to go if he doesn't do something soon. I'm a big fan of his, but he's had a poor start to the season. With Hughes scoring a mountain of runs elsewhere, it's only a matter of time before he gets a call up...Hope it's soon.

Moey in for Lambert too!

Forrest gone for 36. God damnit!
