As I said earlier, Why not remove x,y,z from a,b,c's repetoire and then ponder whether a,b,c wouldn't be regarded as 'as great'. Not that Imran has only the World Cup win but it is pretty silly to ponder like this. For instance, how would you feel if some one said when arguing Lillee v Akram or Ambrose or Hadlee or Marshall or so many bowlers:

I some times ponder if Lillee would be regarded as as great if his body had broken up worse and he was never able to bowl again.

One may debate about how important the achievement was (for instance, Sanz feels it wasn't that great an achievement from a captaincy point of view but more of an individual brilliance scenario with Akram, Inzamam etc). Imran's team won the World Cup and removing Pakistan's world cup win under Imran is not the right way to go about it where I am concerned.

It is hardly 'dire' though, asking a question about cricket on a cricket forum8-)

Which post has been reported and why? (I know I should study the thread but it's such a pile of dross that I can't be bothered.)

I think if Pakstan were knocked out of the WC in 92, Imran might be viewed in a different light, as most of his success as a captain started in this comp. from memory:ph34r:
then your memory is faulty, because he was regarded as a great captain well before the '92 world cup...

Yes I was kidding:@
You can't make jokes about an institution like Imran Khan.
In fact in the 1992 World Cup he was quite fortunate on a few occasions. The weather saving them from elimation as mentioned. In the semi-final he bowled like a spod and was the most expensive bowler, he also batted slowly and put great pressure on the later batsman and Pakistan were saved by a slogged 60 by the young Inzaman. In the Final he also batted very slowly, they were 35-2 off 17 overs when he spooned a miss-hit into the leg side and was inches from being caught. Had that been caught the result could have different.
