I don't know about crossing the line and all. It was very much a dire comment from you for mine and I have explained why.I thought people saying it was 'dire' meant on CW that you had crossed the line?

Why?I don't know about crossing the line and all. It was very much a dire comment from you for mine and I have explained why.
As I said earlier, Why not remove x,y,z from a,b,c's repetoire and then ponder whether a,b,c wouldn't be regarded as 'as great'. Not that Imran has only the World Cup win but it is pretty silly to ponder like this. For instance, how would you feel if some one said when arguing Lillee v Akram or Ambrose or Hadlee or Marshall or so many bowlers:Why?
Erm ... why?Post reported.
Bhupinder.Who is sayin he would have been a non-entity?
Rhetorical questions are bad enough without being answered wrongly.Nobody.
He discovered it himself, I believe, but learnt a fair deal from Sarfraz about harnessing it effectively.Imran also learnt reverse Swing from someone, didn't he ?
Actually, Sarfraz taught him the skill, Imran had no knowledge of it previously, and had to pry it out of Sarfraz. He discovered it himself, I believe, but learnt a fair deal from Sarfraz about harnessing it effectively.
Learnt it from Sarfaraz but made he imroved to a significant level. He discovered it himself, I believe, but learnt a fair deal from Sarfraz about harnessing it effectively.
Similar to Murali learning the doosra from Saqlain and then becoming its master.Learnt it from Sarfaraz but made he imroved to a significant level.
My National Geographic D.V.D. seems to think that Imran discovered it himself and approached a scientist to learn more.Actually, Sarfraz taught him the skill, Imran had no knowledge of it previously, and had to pry it out of Sarfraz.
I didn't actually report it. Although I had half a mind to.Erm ... why?

You should have, the mods could do with a good laughI didn't actually report it. Although I had half a mind to.
It is hardly 'dire' though, asking a question about cricket on a cricket forumAs I said earlier, Why not remove x,y,z from a,b,c's repetoire and then ponder whether a,b,c wouldn't be regarded as 'as great'. I some times ponder if Lillee would be regarded as as great if his body had broken up worse and he was never able to bowl again.
One may debate about how important the achievement was (for instance, Sanz feels it wasn't that great an achievement from a captaincy point of view but more of an individual brilliance scenario with Akram, Inzamam etc). Imran's team won the World Cup and removing Pakistan's world cup win under Imran is not the right way to go about it where I am concerned.
Umm... because I can.Erm ... why?
then your memory is faulty, because he was regarded as a great captain well before the '92 world cup...I think if Pakstan were knocked out of the WC in 92, Imran might be viewed in a different light, as most of his success as a captain started in this comp. from memory
http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1369588&postcount=335Which post has been reported and why? (I know I should study the thread but it's such a pile of dross that I can't be bothered.)
Yes I was kiddingthen your memory is faulty, because he was regarded as a great captain well before the '92 world cup...
You can't make jokes about an institution like Imran Khan.Yes I was kidding
