It was. I know the game was over by halftime and a few of them were on a yellow card, but you'd like to think the midfield could string a few passes together and the forwards could read the line well enough to stay onside.Well that was dire.
Didn't watch it itbt. Commented when Shevchenko scored. It was. I know the game was over by halftime and a few of them were on a yellow card, but you'd like to think the midfield could string a few passes together and the forwards could read the line well enough to stay onside.
I was so bored I ended up trying to work out who is the more over-rated out of Gerrard & Wright-Phillips. The former is obviously the better player, but is massively overlauded given his inability to retain possession as often as not. The latter's re-emergence in the England side strikes me as being similarly overhyped given his failure to beat any players at all or deliver a single decent cross, which you'd have thought were essential attributes of a wide player. Beyond that, the side's basic ball control was so poor and the passing so laboured that you still fear for them when they face anyone good.
Always thought the Times was fairly neutral. Telegraph is the big conservative one.
Yeah, the spelling was deliberate. Defo a centre to right paper, but objective over which party it actually supports...Yeah, I buy the Times. I certainly wouldn't if it was ****ing Tory. Maybe he meant "conservative" with a small "c", that's how he spelt it anyway
Not an unlikely event, tbf.UEFA Cup update
Everton lost 2-1 to Frankfurt yesterday, with that ****ing Prinz scoring again. Need to beat Valur and Frankfurt to beat Wezemaal on Tuesday to reach the quarters.
I thought Owen looked pretty sharp tbh. Offsides were extremely debatable, I think there were two that were actually onside, and one of them would have lead to a Gerrard goal but for the lino. Granted he should have done better with his chances, but meh, I'll take it.Owen was shocking, it must be said. Three times Poom denied him (admittedly the first two were offside, but Young Michael wasn't to know that) and Poom's really not v good at all.
I think Saturday made it 5 in a row didn't it?Workman-like performance from England, but it's hard to be too critical when you win a game 3-0. Freakish run of results we're having too; that's 4 consecutive competitive games we've triumphed three-zip in.

Awful idea if it's true. Our guys have no idea whatsoever how to play with one up front, and it's just inviting a complete & utter disaster. Does this mean that Owen's not likely to be fit then? Even if that is the case, I'd rather see Crouch up front with Rooney than our midfield trying to string enough passes together to make 4-5-1 work.I just can't believe that pundits are serious suggesting that Rooney play as lone striker in Russia. Short memories IMO.
I hate playing for a draw anyway. I reckon you're just as likely to lose playing for the draw as you are playing for the win, but you're less likely to win.

You're quite right, of course. I'd completely forgotten about Andorra.yeah

The extra player would help, yes. Sure he'd be spotted eventually tho, unless it was someone really small like Defoe.Should go 4-1-2-1-2-1 imo.
I could name games when I've not spotted at least half of our midfield. The extra player would help, yes. Sure he'd be spotted eventually tho, unless it was someone really small like Defoe.
