***Official*** English Domestic Season 2007

Durham doing well against Sussex, 228/2 after Sussex made 291.

And Rana Naved is being stretchered off the field & into an ambulance, after diving to try and stop a 4. Will be a massive blow to Sussex if he's badly injured at such a crucial stage of the season.

They've done well this season, but with Trescothick likely to be back in England colours and Langer possibly retired, I don't think they had a chance next year.

Not convinced about Tres playing for England again. I think their bigger problem will be their attack, with Caddick getting his free bus-pass before long and questions over Willoughby's whereabouts in the future.

But congratulations for this year, obv.

Says a 'medical emergency' has stopped play. Hope everything is alright.
I'm listening to the commentary on the radio, and they took the players off 25 minutes ago when it happened, and they're still off. They've called an NHS ambulance, which is on the pitch with 2 paramedics working on him (along with both phsyio's & the doctor), they've put him on a "spinal board" with a collar on, and they're moving really slowly, holding his arms still, as they gently put him into the ambulance.

I hope it's all just really precautionary, but it's sounding very serious (although he's moving his legs so it doesn't sound like it's a spinal injury). They're interviewing Geoff Cook, the Durham coach, who comments that he's never seen anything like this before.

Hopefully its just to be safe. They do this a lot with footballers and it always turns out to be nothing serious. So fingers crossed.

Sounds much more serious than with footballers though. Hope everything is okay and it turns out to be just precautionary.

Never good to hear something like this happening. Sounds particularly serious, and I just hope everything is ok for Rana Naved. You'd expect it will be very difficult for them to continue this game now after seeing something so terrible.

EDIT: Man on the radio saying that a groundsman told him they think its just a bad shoulder or collarbone injury. Would seem weird for the huge delay in getting him off the field if this is the case, but hope so given the circumstances.

Twas a badly dislocated shoulder, apparently. It pisses me off when they say "he was given oxygen" - it's morphine for goodness' sake!!

Starting to look very much as if the Bears will join the Pears in Division 2 next year, while Surrey and Kent will stay up. Wouldn't have expected that scenario a month ago.

I thought this was worth a mention, btw, the first player in England (and Wales) to reach 1000 f-c wickets since Caddick did it in 2005, and difficult to see there being many more in the near future. No-one else is within 150 as far as I know.

Perfect... Kent manage to retain their record of being the only county not to play Division 2 cricket, and do so by thrashing Shane Warne's Hampshire, effectively scuppering their title aspirations. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Warney.

Not at all disappointed to see Warwickshire go down either, given that they were one of the teams who kicked up a stink about Kent being awarded 9 points for the farcical New Road situation.

Great performance by the guys, it's been a good season all told.

Well after a year of hell it all turns out OK :)

Kent dont get relegated so can stop whining like babies about the abandoned game costing them, and Worcs claim the Pro40 title. If we avoid defeat in our last match we'll be undefeated which is a great feat in itself.

Nice to see our young players like Moeen Ali and Steve Davies doing the business too.

What a Performance from two talented young players Moeen and Davies, Both should be close to England next season
Nah, Davies MAYBE but id like to see him have at least 1 more year to get his technique more solid. Moeen is a long way off yet. He didnt have the best of seasons till a few weeks ago when he's come good.

Good performance today from Durham, beating Glamorgan by 70 runs. And with Middlesex beating Somerset, that means that Durham win the second division.

Congrats to all at Durham, that's 2 trophies this year, and still in with (an outside chance) of the big one next week
