Neil mckenzie says he will sign for somerset if he doesn't get picked for s africa for pakistan.
Looks like his threat may work for McKenzie according to SuperSport will tour Pakistan but not as a middle order batsman but as a partner for Graeme Smith - which is very surprising for Gibbs according to CSA last week was now back as opener, in all formats of the game.

His hoping if Neil does tour he will actually convert he starts into big runs, for the biggest criticism of McKenzie, outside his ability to play spin was that he never scored enough hundreds, only two in over 40 test matches - which is an appalling stat for any international batsman.

Just some trivia questions for you guys, I'm curious?:

When was the last time someone from Derbyshire, Glamorgan and Leicestershire played Test cricket?

What's happened to Rikki Clarke?

Glamorgan: Simon Jones, 4th Ashes Test 2005
Leicestershire: Darren Maddy and Alan Mullally, 5th Test in South Africa 1999-00 (Mullally moved counties after that and played one further Test as a Hampshire man)
Derbyshire: Dominic Cork, 4th India Test 2002.

What's happened to Rikki Clarke?
Serious illness has kept him out of cricket.

You could argue that Katich was the last Derbyshire player to play test cricket.

Final round of matches starting today - now that Kent are safe I can appreciate the openness at the top of the table. Should be an exciting next few days. I'm hoping that Sussex take it myself - I would go for Durham but that would mean they'd have to beat Kent and even though we're safe, I still want us to finish the season with a win.

Good to see that Northeast has been handed his FC debut - apparently he's the next big thing at Kent so it'll be interesting to see how he goes.

Nah, he didn't join Derbyshire until after he was dropped from Australia. :p

Asif probably makes it for Leicestershire though, counting that way, and McCullum for Glamorgan. Possibly even Daren Powell, though it took six months between Derbyshire stint and Test callup.

Surrey have signed Usman Afzaal on a three year contract.
Whilst Surrey’s talented England under-19 all-rounder, Rory Hamilton-Brown has had his contract terminated by mutual consent. Brown is now expected to sign for Sussex.

Most important match of my lifetime going as expected. Once we pass Ramprakash and Butcher we'll be sorted.

Ramps to get a triple-ton:)

Northeast is batting now, he's had so many plaudits before his first-class debut, must put pressure on the lad. Plunkett coming on as second change again, to think a couple of months ago he was opening the bowling for England:unsure:

Good to see Mark Davies back & amongst the wickets. The poor bloke's been so unlucky with injuries, it's ridiculous.

Some of us can remember a time when Derbyshire had 3 players in the same England side. If we're still doing trivia, anyone care to name them?

Serious illness has kept him (Rikki Clarke) out of cricket.
Any idea of details? I was wondering what had happened to him.

Cook, Miller and Chilly?

I love that Steds loves Saj nowadays, he's changing perceptions of him, one person at a time.
