Anna

International Vice-Captain
Hampshire - Tremlett, Powell, Bruce, Warne, Udal
Notts - Shreck, Sidebottom, Ealham, Swann
Sussex - Naved, Lewry, Kirtley, Mushtaq, Saqlain
Lancashire - Chapple, Cork, Smith, Keedy, Muralitharan
Kent - Saggers, Arafat, McClaren, Malinga,
I don't think you can count Notts this season, most of them have been injured :D

You've forgotten one:

Somerset: Caddick, Willoughby, Trego, Jones, Blackwell.

Somerset's promotion speaks for itself!

Caddick 75 wickets, Willoughby 58, Trego 30, Jones 25, Blackwell 27.

Let's not forget, Trego was playing minor county cricket less than 2 years ago. Doubt these guys will perfom in Div 1 tbh.

Somerset bowling will get spanked next season it really will.

On a side note Worcs are SO close to the Pro40 title. Unbelievable given the start we had to the season on top of the flooding. :-O

Erm, he only played for Herefordshire at the beginning of the 2005 season because he was signed by Middlesex for the rest of it. He made his debut for Somerset in 2000 & also played for England U19s.

Sorry for defending a talented player. I'm just getting p****d off that Somerset aren't getting the credit they deserve for getting promoted as div 2 champions; they were bottom of the division only last year!

Eh, they've got a terrific batting line up and Caddick and Willoughby are class, however even you must see that the other bowlers are not in the same league. Congrats btw. :)

Ha ha, thanks :p Ben Phillips could prove to be the back-up bowler we need, it's just no-one's seen him bowl at Taunton yet :(

To be fair, there are only really six teams in division two this year. Glamorgan, Leicestershire and Derbyshire are nowhere near even fit to play with the rest of the counties at the moment.

Why not?, surely can't be that much worse than Jones or Trego.
:p He's been injured for most of the season. Well, his shoulder was injured when he came to us, then he recovered from that but did his knee (I think); he then played a game for the seconds & his shoulder went again. Tis crap considering he had a pretty good season for Northants last year.

The wheels have come off at Warwickshire (bowled out for 106, Mahmood 4 for 21), seems like they get worse with every Kolpak cricketer they sign. Division Two awaits them.

Congratulations!

There was talk a while back that Charl Willoughby may get reselected by South Africa, purely for test cricket but specifically for the West Indies and New Zealand tests (with a view for England next summer). Willoughby does plays as a Kolpak as we know but given his contract isn’t long term, cancelling the deal would cost CSA practically peanuts and Charl has always maintained that his goal is to play more test cricket for SA. Be fascinating to see if that does happen, for it isn’t the most ludicrous of stories given his friendship with captain Smith and they mutual respect for one and another but it would be tough on Somerset, his been awesome for them.

Yeah, well done Anna. Nice to see teams have fans like you :)

High scoring game at the Oval, Somerset just manged to win by 5 runs. Tons for both Trescothick and Ramprakash, young Dernback took a 5'fer aswell.

Jerome Taylor continuing to perform for Leicestershire, picked up 6 against Middlesex.

Kent looking good against Hampshire, Denly, Key and van Jaarsveld all in the runs.

And that's the double promotion :jump: :D :jump: :D :jump:
They've done well this season, but with Trescothick likely to be back in England colours and Langer possibly retired, I don't think they had a chance next year.

Langer retired?? Where on earth did you hear that?!? He's coming back as our overseas player & that was heard directly from the horse's mouth!

Just speculation TBH, I was under the impression that this was his last season.
