Gambhir being predestrian, but I have concerns over Collingwood's captaincy. Lewis I assume will bowl out, but Anderson seems like the only fit death bowler.

It's nearly half-way through the innings and Monty hasn't even bowled yet and I have a feeling Dhoni, Yuvraj and Dravid will be taking him to the cleaners.

He's not gonig to get much out of Anderson, he's bowled 7 already and Broad is struggling.

AF's prediction: Monty to go for 8+.

Gambhir starting to pick up the pace, consecutive boundaries. However, things don't bode well for Collingwood and England. India should be aiming for 300 at the least.

Agreed on all points. Surely Panesar should have been brought on once the PPlays were finished, especially with Tendulkar gone. We're looking at well over 350 here, aren't we.

If Anderson bowls anymore, it'll be even worse for England.

BTW, would anyone mind replying to this:

How many games do you think it should take an established List A bowler to have his average on the better side of 30?

Both Mahmood and Plunkett have played 20 odd games and have averages on the wrong side of 30 and they to some extent have been banished from internationals, I doubt Broad will get the same treatment, but questions do need to be asked, if you know what I mean.
Much appreciated.

Not all just about average though, it does come down to economy rate. Presumably Plunkett and Mahmood have both a dire economy rate and a poor average, which backs up the point that neither of them should be anywhere near the ODI side at the moment. Send them back to County Cricket where they can hopefully improve.

Once again, the case for some sort of 'appeals' system against patently incorrect decisions looks unanswerable.

The trouble is with the one trialled in the FP trophy in England is the officials word it so the umpires just end up backing up each other because it has to be beyond doubt - which of course is their way of copping out.
