Gambhir out. Not all that bad of an innings. SR of 78 is acceptable I guess.

Who took the catch?

As Gfan has said, England short a batsmen, and considering what Bopara did last game, its going to be a big loss. It's a real shame for Bopara, such an exciting talent and a real prspect for England for many years to come.

Can anyone detail how serious his injury is?

He'll miss the 20/20 tournament, according to TMS. And yes, it's a huge loss today. Of course, he missed the WI series as well, and it's a real shame that he can't get a run of games under his belt.

No that's not what TMS said. First of all they said he'd gone for scans so nobody knows anything for sure yet and then they said if it's a really bad fracture/dislocation he could be out of the Twenty20 World Championships.

Fair enough - ta for that. So is it definitely dislocated, or is that still to be confirmed?

Also, Collingwood may end up being the most economical bowler in this innings.

Not sure how much difference Fred's absence makes to the batting.

Agreed that India are huge favourites, but their bowling's a bit light today, and we know from this series that Agarkar can vary from one extreme to the other. Basically 2 or 3 of England's top 6 need to produce big scores instead of the cameos that we've been getting from most of them.

Given how ordinary Lewis has been with the ball & that Mascarenhas was in our original squad it seems a bizarre decision to play the curly-haired, large-nosed, slow-medium pie distributor. It meant the Anderson/Broad opening combo was broken too, which had been working pretty well thus far.

Easy to be wise after the event, but it should've been a no-brainer anyway.

Thats like saying Plunkett is a poor bowler, but he can still get wickets. Flintoff wasn't even instrumental in pulling off a small run chase - he is a liability and a buren on everyone else who bats below him.

Taking into account the 'now' factor, Bopara is a much more important loss than Flintoff.

Not sure what your saying here, that in a run chase it wouldn't make a difference if Lewis was there or Flintoff? I beg to differ, Lewis being a direct replacment for Flintoff is certainly not going to help England's chances, regardless of Flintoff's current dire form. And I agree Bopara is a much greater lossright now and I never said otherwise.
