***Official*** India in England

That's yer lot. Well done India. Fully deserved over the series.

A few of our problems that a desperately weak Windies team helped disguise have come home to roost. Opening & wicket-keeping the first areas of concern; I'm not advocating knee-jerk changes, but Strauss & Cook don't seem to compliment each other and Prior's been short in both disciplines.

Predictions for this test and the series?

This test: draw.
Series: 1-1.
1-0 England. I don't know if we'll see two results in three tests due to A) weather, and B) the bowling. Not only is the bowling bad on both sides, but the batting is decent. Couple that with the weather, and you're just asking for draws.
1-0 India.
I am so gun, it's not even funny.

This seriously deserves the best prediction award  .

Wow a timid draw in the last Test to assure we lost the series, pop open the champagne Vaughan and the boys.

Pathetic.

This test could have ended up like this , but only if Dravid and his team played positive cricket like Pakistan did in the above match.
Ah, but they don't have a matchwinner like Mr Afridi on their side ;) He made a duck in the first innings, but a very quick 58 in the second, and took some VITAL wickets

Well done India!

I guess Dravid's explanation in the post match interview summed up why he didnt enforce the follow on....

The ODI's should be a close contest worth watching.

Really you think so? Honestly I think we're gonna own England in the ODIs. Especially if we play the way we did in the series against RSA before this.

Thinking about it again, I'm not really sure about the ODI's!

We had a poor World Cup, so don't know how much that will affect us, I can't right England off as an ODI team, they have all the reason to come back strong and they do have some decent ODI players.

I suppose we have the experience of all the ODI's we play, so we'll see how it goes, can't wait, especially to see the likes of Yuvraj and Gambir playing. Hope the weather doesn't spoil all of it.

So a quick overview of the series stats for England...

Panesar averaged 3.40 with the bat, took 8 wickets at over 50 (5 of the wickets were tailenders). There aren't statistics for fielding other than catches, but if they were you can be guaranteed he'd be complete rubbish in those as well.

Prior scored 73 in 6 innings, about as much as 1 of his 3 drops cost or about as much as all the byes he let through that he should have stopped.

Collingwood topped the bowling averages for England with 27.25.

2 English batsmen averaged 38 or more, 6 Indian batsmen averaged 38 or more.

I really don't see how it's that unrealistic. A fit Flintoff will make a massive difference.
In their last 40 ODIs, England are:

0-6 vs. Sri Lanka
1-4 vs. India
3-5 vs. Australia
2-3 vs. NZ
2-2 vs. Pakistan
3-2 vs. West Indies

That's not a terribly good record. They may do well, and maybe win, but domination I think is quite unrealistic.

I never mentioned they'll dominate the series as that will be almost impossible tbh. I'd still be surprised if England don't win at least two games in the series.
