With apologies to PF I'm taking this off sticky. It's a first class tournament at the end of the day and especially with the lack of activity, I certainly don't think it warrants it.

I think we might just have to talk about general Associate stuff rather then just games. Maybe updates on their domestic leagues, i know NL has a few overseas players runing around.

 Clean forgot. :D

Scotland dropped a mass of catches on the first day. Tom de Grooth 98 - dropped thrice tho Total bowling disaster today, though, McCallum and Watson have tucked in with only Bukhari stemming it somewhat. Can understand it, all their best bowlers are unavailable, but still disappointing.

The inconsistency of all sides in the competition is what really worries me. One match they look like they are only a couple of seasons off Test Cricket. Next match you question why they are in this competition. I guess a lot has to do with lack of preparation and issues with player releases.

Also is Holland ever going to get a decent bowling attack. :(

Schiferli, Jonkman, RTD, Bukhari and Kashif would be decent.

Trouble is, only the youngest of them is available.

Poor batting from Buurman when given responsibility too. Disappointing.

Schiferli has had a fair bit of a chance at this level and has never really performed to his potential. Maybe his hasn't been fully fit when his played, but i can't see him performing at a high level.

RTD has always been a class above most Dutch bowlers, but he struggles to cut it at domestic level with the bowl in England. He basically plays as a specialist batsmen for Essex. Really you need guys who are near FC standard to take their side to another level and i doubt RTD will ever reach that level. He will always be servicable at best.

The other are fairly new so i guess the jury is out. But the later two Bukhari and Kashif look ever much like you can bat a bit and bowl a bit options that Holland has always had in the past.

Big win for Scotland yesterday, despite the dropped catches in the first innings.

The format is good for the time being, but should maybe be expanded to home and away system at some stage, both to increase the number of games and level out the home advantage. Many of the Associates will, I think, struggle away from home, so any away points will be a bonus. In later years as teams are more used to touring, I think this will become less of an issue.

It would be really nice if the ICC got themselves organised and released the rest of the fixtures. There is a rumour Kenya and Namibia will be in UAE sometime Feb or March, but I am yet to have this confirmed officially.

On a side note, I think the sides that will do best in this comp longterm are the sides that organise First Class cricket outside of it. It surprises me that as yet no sides have played a second game against each other or even made a series out of it. I know finance has a lot to do with this, but one would think the ICC would be happy to help support teams that took the initiative to develop their games in this way. Kenya's experience from the Logan Cup and India A tours will stand them in good stead against the sides who only play multi-day cricket in the Intercontinental Cup.

Ireland v Scotland starting today: scores

Always used to be a statistical curio, this, when I was getting into cricket - the only first-class match played in the British Isles that had no county players involved (Oxford and Cambridge generally had a Marks or a Pringle on show). These names like O'Riordan and Warke and Racionzer turned up every year in Wisden and Playfair without anyone knowing the first thing about them. Nowadays the players are a little more high-profile, if that's the right term.

Holland was crap but yes major but, a inexperianced and young side played that match, against a experianced Scotland side.
I know and played with/against quite a few of those guys.
decent cricketers but none will ever really make it in my opinion, heck even I slashed Kohli around! and I'm a no.9 batsman !
side is hugely strenghtend for the Bermuda game.
hoping to catch some live action altho i doubt it :) love to see Leverock personally
