I can't say that the beamer was on purpose, but the no balls certainly were. And so was the kick. And the shoulder barge. Considering how he broke down yesterday, this was an extremely poor show from him. I've lost all my respect for him TBH.

If you're going to get that wound up over some jelly beans on the pitch then frankly you're an uptight moron who needs to develop a sense of humour. Seriously, a classic one line to Pietersen instead of having a go at him and he would be a legend.

Cheating isn't the right word. Trying to kill a batsman, or even physically threatening them with beamers is not on. Maybe you'd prefer attempted assault to Cheating, as deliberately bowling a beamer from someone who can bowl over 120kmph IS attempted assault. Heath never stooped so low.

Obviously, no one can 'prove' that he was doing this deliberately, but to my mind it crosses the line between the acceptable and the unacceptable..
Of course it is not on and If I were incharge I would drop SreeSanth from this series. He is such an embarrassment. I am not even arguing that it was un-intentional.

What I am trying to say is that the accusations of 'cheating' are being thrown out too easily and too often on this forum.

Haha, agreed. It was childish but hardly anything to be brandishing a bat about. Regardless, if thats what gets him going...it works for me if he is going to bowl like that....

This is exactly the kind of defense that annoys me most. Its not sense of humor.

Course it is. You don't start brandishing a bat around because of jelly beans, you can either laugh it off or make a wisecrack back. To get that angry over that is completely unjustfied.

I don't really see the point in what were England were doing with jelly beans when they're 250 behind...

As for it actually affecting how any of the players bowled - I doubt it made any difference. Still it's a fairly common occurrence for English players to display their sense of humour, usually they save it for when they're padded up tho.

Yeah - not 'cheating' per se. Probably contrary to Law 42, but I would agree that its not cheating. Constitutes 'unfair play' if anything, I guess. Cheating is a very emotive word, saved for players who dance on the wicket during drinks breaks or those who've been caught on camera rubbing dirt, mints or suncream into the ball.

Didn't look like there was too much humour in the Pietersen/ Zaheer incident, tbh.

And if there's any justice, it will piss down all day tomorrow taking a certain victory away from India. There's no way they deserve to go One-Nil up after being just as comprehensively outplayed in the First Test as they've outplayed England in the Second. One-One would certainly be a scoreline more indicative of how the series has gone.

In fact, **** It. I'm gonna do a Richard and decide arbitrarily that the First Test was an England win in my statistical canon ;)
Sorry Heath, can't agree there. Nothing would please me more than turning the tele on tonight and seeing a bright, shiny, sunny day, all mare's tails and summer glint.

Would make my day, really.....

I have an equally low opinion of Poms and Indian cricketers ;)

For me, this has been a fantastic series TBH, even if we somehow collapse tomorrow. I'd be dissapointed but I've pretty much enjoyed every day of cricket except for the first day at Lord's. The only thing thats irking me is the fact that there is only one more Test after this.

But the cricket has not been of very high standards. It just seems like a clash of two very average but evenly matched teams. Apart from Vaughan's century and Zaheer's bowling in last inning, overall series has been a dissapointment performance wise.

You think so? I think its been some good bowling from both sides in conditions that favor an even contest between bat and ball, and the fact that both sides are similar just adds so much to the series. There have been some unplayable deliveries, some good knocks, some bad shots and some good banter on the pitch. I can't realistically expect more from Test cricket.
