Aggression is only good when you've got the skill and talent and it goes on top of that to polish off the formidable package, imo. Aggression on its own (without those) is usually just laughable and you see recently, class batsmen like Ponting and KP just laughing at some of these substandard bowlers who've tried 'roughing' them up.

So, come on guys...its time for Indian guys to show the agression and rule the world of cricket.
Cricket matches are won by bowling and batting right. For that, you need to practise and not fool around in the nets, at least not forget your run up while bowling.

Aggression when the person knows how he is channeling it can help your performance like say it helped an Allan Donald. However, just trying to show you are aggressive and acting stupid doesn't even benefit your team in any way. It gives away free runs in no balls! You think some one like Vaughan will be scared because of a 24 year old kid trying to act stupid?

If cricket matches were won by trying to show that you are aggressive, why have bowlers bowl? Let us just have any random man from the street go and shout or act crazily on the cricket pitch.

Sreesanth can learn so much from his seniors like Dravid, Tendulkar and Kumble who have a solid work ethic and are model sports persons in many ways. If not them, just look at RP Singh who is 3 years younger than you and is concentrating on his bowling.

Same thing bro, I made a 1-0 prediction on one of the pages, cbf finding it. And will most likely beat Sam in the avatar challenge as well with this prediction..
And if there's any justice, it will piss down all day tomorrow taking a certain victory away from India. There's no way they deserve to go One-Nil up after being just as comprehensively outplayed in the First Test as they've outplayed England in the Second. One-One would certainly be a scoreline more indicative of how the series has gone.

In fact, **** It. I'm gonna do a Richard and decide arbitrarily that the First Test was an England win in my statistical canon ;)

I don't think there's anything wrong in it.....he is having young blood in his veins and he is showing agression....that's it.

We all know how agressive australian players are on ground and they even say words like "f***" to indian players.....and they are the world champions. When pakistan was in top-form, all its players showed great agresssion on ground....

So, come on guys...its time for Indian guys to show the agression and rule the world of cricket.
Unfortunately mate, running through the crease in an attempt to hurt the batsman is not only wrong, it's illegal, he will defintely be reprimanded after the game, or should be at least.

I remember a Pakistani bowler (i think) got a match ban or something for doing it ages ago, though tbf he did it more than once.

India on the verge of another huge overseas triumph this year. Zaheer Khan geez, his time in England has really transformed him into an outstanding left-arm pacer, his performances this year in the test cricket is the best i've seen from a leftie since the great Wasim retired.

While everyone is gunning on SreeSanth's behaviour, here is something what English fielders tried when Zaheer walked into bat :-

"....one that occurred just after he'd walked into bat when India were at 464 for 6. So much did the "incident" incense him that he walked up to Kevin Pietersen at gully and brandished his bat menacingly. "When I was batting, there were some jellybeans on the crease, so I chucked one off the wicket.

"When I played the next ball there were again some jellybeans on the wicket. So obviously there was someone throwing it on the wicket, which I didn't like. So I just went upto them and said, 'Guys, what's this all about. I'm here to play cricket.' And they came at me. And I just sort of felt upset. And I just reacted."

Surprisingly Zaheer didn't go after Alastair Cook, fielding at short leg, but directed his ire at Pietersen at gully. "I didn't know exactly from where it was coming," he said. "Maybe I picked the wrong one (Pietersen) but I was just not bothered at that time. I just felt it was insulting. It was definitely from a fielder because if it was placed unknowingly, it shouldn't have come there again when I removed it."

Paul Collingwood preferred to get cheeky when asked about the incident - "I think he prefers the blue ones to the pink ones" - but Zaheer didn't think there was a comical side. It's been a series packed with such on-field action but Zaheer felt England were going one step too far. "We're here to play cricket, that's what we're looking forward to do whole series. I don't really want to go in detail. I'm here to play cricket and enjoy my cricket...."

Pretty cheap act IMO.

Yeah pretty childish imo.

England's joke (if it did happen) was childish, Sreesanth's was cheating basically and potentially dangerous.

Wow... so dire. The English have been pretty crap in the field I would imagine. First the Dinesh Karthik incident in the first test where they were sledging while the bowler was bowling apparently. In this test, Karthik and Zaheer have had words exhcnaged aggressively while they were batting with Sidebottom and KP respectively. Wont be long before we see a physical brawl on the field. It is time the ICC take action against the English side and Vaughan (as captain).

Sidebottom

I still fail to understand how it(sreeSanth's act) is cheating ? If SreeSanth's act is cheating then everything that is not 'bowling', 'batting' and 'fielding' is cheating, Everything from 'Bodyline' to 'Throwing Jellybeans' at batsmen is cheating.

Sreesanth acctualy broke a rule, it is illegal to deliberately overstep the crease when bowling.

Cheating isn't the right word. Trying to kill a batsman, or even physically threatening them with beamers is not on. Maybe you'd prefer attempted assault to Cheating, as deliberately bowling a beamer from someone who can bowl over 120kmph IS attempted assault. Heath never stooped so low.

Obviously, no one can 'prove' that he was doing this deliberately, but to my mind it crosses the line between the acceptable and the unacceptable.

Wasn't there a West Indian quick in the 70s who tended to unleash a beamer if things weren't going his way. I don't think he played too many tests because of it. Can't remember his name off the top of my head.

Sreesanth's antics were:
  • Childish (kicking the air as Collingwood ran past)
  • Stupid (shoulder-barging Vaughan)
  • Potentially Dangerous (intentional no-ball bouncer)

England's antics were:

  • Childish (jellybeans...though that's pretty funny you gotta admit)

At the Oval, India should aim hard candies at Pietersen's helmet from the slips IMO..see what happens then.

Although, I must say if jellybeans will cause Zaheer to bowl like that all the Indians on this board should chip in and permanantly hire a guy who'll throw some at him from the stands everywhere he goes.

Roy Gilchrist? (Though that was early 60s, the description fits exactly otherwise)
