Canning struggles to take two wickets against comp-prof batsmen on a green pitch , and Hook takes 7-fer. Feeling like SP tbh.

Haha my bad, was just going by their wages. I'd be up for a 3 match series, but the Cup will be starting next Sunday. I'll play you after we're both out of the cup though, if you want.

Awesome should be good.

Hook seems to play better on Green pitches for some reason.

Yeah i find spinner bowl their best on green or slow pitches, for whatever reason dusty pitches they are useless.

Playing a friendly against one of my old league rivals, Toolmanteam. They brought Hogg from you Mike and his into bat, small world.

End of Over 41: 197-7, runrate=4.80
Jeithoon 6-1-23-1
Hick* 113 (113 balls)
Hogg 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: St. hubbins b. Jeithoon 1 (FOW: 197/7)

BARNES OUT
My spinners have always bowled their best on Dusty pitches.

And there's no way he'd get a newly 18yo superb for 3.5 mill. The late 17yo ones have been going for 4+

Last season 18yo and 19yo prices went down at the start of last season, which there was a flood of 17yo on the market.

Oh thank god, was bad enough getting beaten by crapham in Biglands, didnt want to lose to him in Battrick.

And that's the end of the match. Four Pillars and Poor Fillers won by 7 wickets.
Clapo's XI 254-6
Four Pillars and Poor Fillers 257-3

End of Over 49: 257-3, runrate=5.24
Verhoeven 9-0-62-0
Hiller* 131 (110 balls)
Allison 47 (44 balls)

Allison came in and played a huge innings, like he has done so many times before, love him right now. But of course, gotta love Hiller, smashing 131 under pressure. Has to be said, Crapham did well to knock down 3 of my 4 pillars () but one stood tall.
Bloody Hillier, think he was the batsmen that put me to the sword last time. Still, pleased that my Batsmen actually managed to chalk up a decent score against some quality bowling. Would've been useful had one of Ludlow or Taylor gone on to make a century.

Friendly against Brianstoke Batters, who are in Scaly's league this season. Lost Ashton early but going well since:

Brianstoke Batters won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Uneven

End of Over 14: 80-1, runrate=5.71
Cook 2-0-15-0
Cuss* 28 (34 balls)
Watkins 52 (49 balls)
Last Wicket: Ashton c. Hay b. Ingram 0 (FOW: 3/1)

Was hoping to bowl, interested to see how Downer will do.

Last season the highest transfer was 10mill.
You do realise we are into the start of Season 7, so last season was Season 6. But yeah its going to be hard to get a 18/19yo under 3.5 mil. Just reckon your better off buying someone younger then Griffin, who you can atleast train to remarkable.

My all rounder does seem to preform a couple levels under his level with the bat and by the looks of things the same thing happens with Canning and Tedstone. So i reckon your better off having your best batsmen as a specialist or keeper, they seem more reilable with the bat.

Hmm just checking my wages now, could be painful:

Ashton £15,474 > £27,402
Watkins £44,270 > £63,479
Whitehorne £64,605 > £79,741
Downer £31,383 > £52,266
Harewood £3,285 > £8,698

And a few other minor changes. Not too bad actually, was expecting Watkins to go up a bit more. I guess the main wage difference this season will be losing the subsidy when Whitehorne is dropped from the NT. Comes to to about £260k all up which is manageable enough.

Played a friendly against one of my old league mates and got smashed in the end, but Muralitharan came out with his best performance ever. Need a big season from him this year to any chance of staying in Div Two.

Toolmanteam 232 All Out Hick 139*(131), Muralitharan 3/40(8.4), Jeithoon 2/38(8), Sishayi 2/45(10), Sisk 2/56(10)

beat

Jaffna Jets 184 All Out Lucas 70(81), Muralitharan 52*(64), Ahamed 4/44(7.5), Hogg 3/29(10)

Ratings were Respectable all round. The match was played on a cracked pitch to help Jeithoon but he didn't do much, still needs a lot work. The batsmen struggled on pitch with Mike's old boyStuart Hogg running through my main batsmen, Ahamed just cleaned up the tail. A tad disappointed that that a quailty/mediocre bowler ran through my batsmen, but Jeithoon (remarkable/respectable) could only get two wickets against the tail. Oh well looks like its back to H&F until Jeithoon wonderful/strong and i'll try cracked again.
