Haha. Key's form of the last 2 seasons hasn't done him any favours, sadly for him.
No, it hasn't, but I still think he's technically a better batsman. Captaincy hasn't helped him either.

bopara better than joyce in the longer form?!?
Quite clearly I didn't say that. I said:

I'd also rather see Bopara in there to be honest, as I think he shows more character and potential.
Bopara's not necessarily better than Joyce in the long form of the game right now, but as FBU's statistics show, he's played about half as many FC games. I'd rather see him in the test team ahead of Joyce, because I think he has the potential to go further and be a better cricketer. But, as I said, my first choice would be Shah - I was simply asked to name some other names of people besides Shah that I'd rather see in the team, and so I did. But Shah is my first choice.

it would be unfair on Shah's part for Bopara or Joyce to play ahead of him
Exactly. So Shah it is then. My second choice? Bopara.

He's completely opposite in the longer form to the shorter form.
He's been ordinary in both for a loooooong time

Name one player in Eng's test top 5 that he comes close to

Cook

Strauss

Bell

KP

Colly

All no contest

So, is he the best no. 6 in the country?

If I see Bopara in the test side any time in the next few years I'll, in the words of Sean Fuller, smash *****.

Could be a possible replacement for Steve Harmison, he just picked up a wicket whilst opening the bowling for Essex.

Err no it couldn't be, that'd be completely stupid.
Sadly, I agree. Bopara's only opening the bowling doubtlessly because Tudor has got injured and Ryan ten Doeschate can not be trusted. Bopara, will never be a good ODI bowler let alone a test alternative.

Again, I was kidding. Very hurt that you don't trust RTD though, the man is a legend.

The bottom line is England would win this series easily and its gonna end up as one very one-sided contest.

All the English batsmen would have a run-feast and the bowlers would be back among wickets.

So its fill your boots time for most of the English players, and they would have to play some very awful cricket to even lose a session in the test series to WI.

Ridiculous squad. Samuels has had quite a few chances, but he seems to have been dropped on the back on a relatively poor World Cup which is completely dire.
Despite what the headlines say, Samuels hasn't actually been dropped. He wasn't in the last test squad.

That's what everyone said about Sri Lanka touring England. With a few minor exceptions. (ie. Murali)

With that squad only a 20% chance IMO while if they had selected othe rplayers it would have risen to around 50-60% for me.

Yes and England botched the chance to go 2-0 up and then some genius of a groundsman decided to create a dustbowl to virtually ensure England lost the last Test.

West Indian cricket is in a mess they are again having problems with their board regarding the contracts, Sarwan is the new captain so he would take time to get used to this new role and the great Brian Charles Lara is no longer the part of the West Indian side.

Their bowling attack looks dire and they have even dropped Samuels, so IMO WI would surely have a rough time during their tour of England [especially in test matches].

What is the state of the WI academy and it's domestic competition? It really needs to realize the talent of it's players. Chris Gayle and Jerome Taylor spring to mind.
