May, home Test, crap opponent...Freddie isn't needed, they've got Hoggy and Harmy to take 17 wickets between them, and someone like Cook or Bell will get the big century to end all suspense.
Maybe Freddie's sledging will be worth listening to. Although if the Windians have any sense they're already having group sessions coming up with stingy booze&boats puns.

Windies are goners. Even with a weak and uninspired English side, this series is going to be a blowout. If not, it's a massive failure for English cricket I'd say.

So who gets your vote for the position of wk in the first test against W Indies and why?

Meh, looking at the 25 peeps in the performance squad, it's a straight choice between Nixon and Prior. Given that the English are still obsessed with the Ashes and Nixon will be entitled to a free bus pass by the time Australia next visit England, I'm guessing Prior will get the nod (Moores being ex-Sussex will help too).

I'd go with Nixon out of the two, because I don't think Prior has it in him to rise to the big occasion and make runs. He's also not that great with the gloves. But I think I'd rather have Pothas in ahead of both of them.

No, he's been ordinary in one-day cricket all his life, and he's been ordinary in the First-Class game for 2 seasons (1 in which he barely played).

I think even that's generous tbh. He's only scored runs on flat tracks so far this season, and against 2nd Division attacks as well.
It's nice to see Alec and Jack mention Ambrose (the other Sussex 'keeper - the one htat left them) who has hit the ground running for Warwicks - but I suspect they'll pick Prior - although he wasn't a sucssess as an ODI opener. (not the one I'd pick but i'm bored writing the same old thing and I'm sure you're bored reading it) I should say that I think Jack is being over optimistic saying we have the best 'keepers in the world. Gilchrist, Sangakara, McCullum, Boucher, Akmaal, Dohni..six of the other seven top teams have 'keepers who can score Test runs, why not England?. On another topic, if KP is not fit (and Vaughan isn't either) who should come into the bating line-up? I'd pick Shah but he seemed not to fit in with Fletcher after his excellent debut - let's hope the new regime is more sensible.
