Oh, he was asking for it, but I was still amazed at the ferocity of the response.

As I say - I'd never have imagined the spewing-rolleyes gif could exist.

Vaas is overated, only useful when it's swinging and totally un-penetrative when it's not
*shocked*

Vaas is brilliant. Full stop.

Anyway, waiting for someone to say Lou Vincent. Whenever he hits good form someone always says he is over rated and crap.

Just need someone to call Chaminda Vaas overrated now, then let me rip into 'em.
Afzaal, Ealham and Chris Harris were rubbish. ODI selection should be reflective of test performances. Economy rates in ODI cricket don't matter - only taking wickets does. Saj Mahmood should be in the England ODI side because he's a wicket taker, and Matt Prior should be in the side because he's a big hitter. For that matter, Hoggard should be in the team because of his test performances. Ireland and Kenya should have test status. Oh, and Anthony McGrath should be in the test team because of his good showings against Zimbabwe.

Did I leave anything out? :p

Graeme Smith is not the 2nd-best batsman after Bradman... (though it's escaped some people's notice that I haven't suggested he will be for quite a while...)

Stephen Harmison was better than Dominic Cork... you certainly missed that.

Now that I think about it, actually, I'm honestly not sure about that one, and it's given me a thought for a poll...

Haha, how on earth could I have not said anything about Harmison? Dire.

That's probably because he's only over-rated when in good form. When his form subsides, people take his performances into context a bit more and realise that he's simply not that good.

Yeah I'm not sold on Vincent either, but it's interesting to watch the cycle in NZ. Whenever Fleming, McMillan or Vincent make a good score, they're over rated. When they don't it's "drop him, he's useless".

On TV once they analysed Vincent's career and the first half is crap. the second half he improves and is passable, mainly going big score 3 little scores big score 3 little scores etc etc. Then recently he's gone up a gear. He will have to continue in the same vein though for a while to convince me. I hope he does come good because we don't exactly have much else lol.
