Saggers and Masters was the best OD opening pair in the country for a short time.

Then Ealham, Headley and the like to come on afterwards...

Yep, one of many England seamers with their careers ruined by circumstances outside their control in the 1990s.

Yeah, Kent used to have a fantastic one day side, it's gone steadily downhill in recent years though. Letting Ealham go was a big mistake.

Good stuff from Rashid there, a genuine prospect for the future.
Yep, I'm hoping the time comes when he kicks Panesar out of the Test side, who'll probably end up being picked each game for 'variety' despite being of little use in most matches. Shame really because if Panesar was left playing county cricket he might learn to play one day stuff - a format he *could* regularly contribute in.

Interesting to se that RTD can score FC runs against other than Canaga or Bermuda - and the Middlesex bowlers are obviously happy being back home after their Taunton ordeal. On another topic - please DO NOT pick Rashid for England this summer. He's obviously a promising player but it could do him more harm than good if he is picked too soon - the words "Chris" and "Schofield" should come to mind.

Yea, because being picked for England was the reason Schofield turned out to be crap wasn't it... The softly softly approach will get England nowhere. Think about how Australia would approach this situation, then we'll get somewhere. They would pick him no bother if they thought he was the best option - which won't be too long given the only competition is a massively over-rated toothless finger spinner of limited use in Test cricket who is a poor tailend batsman and fielder.
