And another wicket for Charl, that's 4 now :D Leics currently 137-4 off 40ovs.
Good performance. Shame the guy's not the nicest of fellas around.
He's lovely, really easy to chat to. I'm guessing you've never actually spoken to him?
No, Matt's Ginger and a bloke.

You, on the other hand...
Ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was common knowledge that Willoughby was a fairly unpleasant chap?

Yea, because being picked for England was the reason Schofield turned out to be crap wasn't it... The softly softly approach will get England nowhere. Think about how Australia would approach this situation, then we'll get somewhere. They would pick him no bother if they thought he was the best option - which won't be too long given the only competition is a massively over-rated toothless finger spinner of limited use in Test cricket who is a poor tailend batsman and fielder.
Thing is, in Australia 19-year-olds aren't best options. Barely a 19-year-old even plays for a state.

Good win for Essex, glad to see Ryan ten Doeschate getting some runs, while Danish Kaneria continues to dominate.

Essex haven't won yet though, largely due to an epic innings from Huw Waters - 33 runs in 3 minutes short of 5 hours is impressive for the concentration required!

Huge win for the Bears though - surprised me so far with their 2 results...

Haha, fair point TBH. As I've already explained to Anna, I have spoken to him, and he's one of a few international cricketers who were less than courteous.

Speaking of which, Graeme Smith was actually a very nice guy. Turn-up for the books, you might say.

I think he might have done something similar before in a huge (200+ I think) last wicket partnership, can't remember for sure. Top blocking anyway.

Good knock by young Mullaney - apparently he reached his fifty off 76 balls then hit 115 of his next 42. Some of the other youngsters were dissapointing though (Karl Brown especially)

Just had a look at his career - he's had 3 pretty epic last wicket stands that he's contributed little to but time:

First one was his 1* from 29 balls in 50 minutes out of a stand of 60
Then the one you remember - 32 from 192 balls in 190 minutes out of a stand of 118
Finally, not quite so good, but on the same lines, 0* from 24 balls in 31 minutes out of a stand of 31 stand

Makes Hoggard look free-scoring!

I'm pretty sure that that stand was against Kent, and I think I was there for some/all of it. Given that I'm only half-sure, it obviously wasn't particularly memorable! But yeah, Hoggard, eat yer heart out!

He's not!! Gah, I wish people wouldn't judge players on how they appear on TV/are on a busy match day. I can totally understand how someone would get pissed off after having hundreds of kids shove autograph bats in their face. It also annoys me when people complain that a player won't sign their bat during a match & that they're an unpleasant person for not doing so - they're playing a competetive match & trying to get in the right frame of mind for goodness sake! You should feel grateful that they sign it at all; the amount of people I've seen demanding autographs & generally being rude is ridiculous. The players are human beings, after all, so treat them with a bit of respect.

Anyway, Charl always smiles & says high to the other stewards & I whenever he's around. He also has a very lovely wife & a beautiful baby.

Anyway!

Somerset have beaten Leics by 198 runs, wooo :D

Leics were bowled out for 150 in their 2nd innings, Cam White taking 3-42 & Trego 4-49 (giving him match figures of 8-121).

Som 21 points, Leics 7. 31 points from the 1st matches is a great start :D

Hmm. Even Hingston IIRR said he wasn't the nicest?

As for the autographs, most seem to deal with it pretty well.

Hmm... Surrey 213-0 just before the halfway point of their innings in their 50 over match.

Apart from that game looks more of a day for bowling.

Oh and Tremlett is listed as having bowled 7 overs in Essex v Hampshire, I'm sure that's just an error tho.

Surrey finish on 496-4, if Rikki hadn't kept running an additional run to get Hamilton-Brown on strike they'd have probably got the 500.

I think Rikki finished on 82* off 28 balls...

Pretty amazing innings.

Brown doing what he does best, Benning giving the selectors a nod and Rikki going crazy.

What an ordinary attack Gloucs has though.

Tres looks like he's wintered well. In super touch & looks lean and hungry. Naved & Kirtley not the worst opening attack in the world either.
