I joined up to this a while ago but admittedly never really knew what I was doing... maybe I'll get a little more serious with my lads. Anyway, uh, any kind of advice is welcome as I'm a complete rookie. I've used a couple of ideas from threads in this forum with regards to nets (ie, putting it on 100%) but otherwise haven't really researched a lot yet.

Are there certain areas I shouldn't bother with when creating trainees, out of curiosity? I generally put 12 on each of batting (or bowling) and concentration (or consistency) and then sort of spread the rest between fielding and stamina.

And how do you get the money to afford buying them? :S I'm not sure I get enough cash to compete on that level.

May as well just pile all the nets on those two til there's some other trainees.

For Ohalloran you can give him 1 field, 1 bat, 1 fitness, 3 bowl or 1 field, 1 bat, 2 fitness, 2 bowl etc.
That leaves 1 field, 1 stamina, 2 bat for Whing

Then just leave that training til next season and try and pick up a cheap 17yo high competent or something.

First of all, now that Elmes and Falk both have superb stamina, you can take them off their fitness net, as superb is that highest they can get to (well, they could get to a higher sublevel, eg. 10.99, but you may as well just stop them there). As for the others, you shouldn't be training anyone in a primary that's only at feeble, and only train a mediocre if he's 17 or 18. Also, you should be looking on the market for some trainees, because giving nets, especially single nets, to players over 20 or so is a bit pointless. I'd definitely leave Falk and Elmes on nets though, although I'd stop Falk once he gets to respectable batting.

Given that you've got a lot in the account, you should be looking to buy up some players. For that amount, you could probably get yourself a few decent competent/respectable players, and maybe a competent 17 year old trainee next season (players will be aging in a few weeks, so wait till the new season before buying a trainee), or you could just spend all of it on one good player.
