A.D (H.D)! What has gotten into you lately? Have you been spitting your Ritalin out again while Mammy isn't looking?

I never said I was right, otherwise what would be the point in asking? That's just my experience, and knowledge gleaned from people on here.

Besides, There's enough that I know is wrong with that guy's figures to persuade me not to trust the stuff I'm unsure of. I.E., his theory on GFI/TIE is plane wrong, his blurb on secondaries is cut and pasted directly out of the rules, the form theories are questionable to say the least, and his wage formula seems a little on the high side to me, especially for the more skilled players, though that's one of the things of which I am uncertain.

Plus, if there's something he doesn't understand, then he just plain ignores it, as he does in the case of BTR, an area in which as we know, Scaly has made big advances. Fair enough, I imagine it's massively complicated, but it's clearly something relevant to the game, so to say "who cares" is a bit silly.

I mean, fair do's to the guy for having a go, and thank you A.D for posting it for me, but there's nothing in there to suggest to me that he speaks the gospel and people such as Scaly and Adam, and even myself, are simply wrong!

Didn't say you were wrong :p. Just said I believed those figures were right. BTR formulas are not that hard just adding numbers together tbh. But you have to get those numbers first and make sure they are correct :). Which is part of the problem with training times people think they know the wonder formula then it comes and they don't pop and put it down as a bug.

The BTRs are simple really, they're less complex than wages. With wages you've got the basic 250, then you've got primary and secondary wages. With BTR there's no fixed number to add on, you don't have to worry about whether it's a primary or secondary. All you're doing is adding skill ranges together. The main thing that screws it up is the form, but most players are on superb-superb anyway. Then you've got to work out the right skill ranges, that's the tricky part that requires some effort, if you're lucky you'll find an all-worthless bar one (repeated) skill with superb-superb form. It should be easy to work out rough ballpark figures within minutes, to get them precise enough that you can rely on your figures is very difficult and might need a bit of trial and error and stumbling upon players that throw your figures out.

The one theory of his which does interest me is the suggestion that dropping training intensity by 50% can boost TFL by two levels in a week! I'm toying with the idea of doing that for my playoff.

And finally on training times, as I'm going home for a lamb dinner in a sec, but I've got a hunch, with very little to back it up, that players with lower PFL train more slowly. Which could account for the anomalies whereby players like Canning seem to run late, but players such as Ashton are as regular as clockwork.

I doubt PFL plays a part. There are plenty of players who get heaps of nets who have permanently low PFL and don't seem to suffer from increased training times. Anyway, I've been expecting Ashton's batting to pop for two weeks now. ;)

Friendly anyone? I shall be playing a rather poor bowling lineup as I want to recover some of my bowlers' PFLs. Preferably an Australian.
I'll take you up on that :) I'll be looking forward to copping a hiding

Damn it NorCricket challenged me but Im already playing Bocaj :(

Will have to wait till next and week and the week after to get my ass wooped by Him and Green Bay Wooduhs :p.

Give me luck everyone!

I last night sold a Resp/Fee/Fee 26 yr old for 200k :p

Brings by balance to $1.733 which I will just be earning interest off.

Next week it is. I will field my best, or close to, players. Hopefully you will field a decent team too.

What have I got myself into :p.
