how do you telkl when your players pop is it on a certain day or after a certain amount of days in training.
You can tell when your players pop because their skills have increased, and you do this simply by remembering (or writing down in a word or excel file) what they were beforehand. Also, training a skill will take a specific amount of time depending on which skill it is, the amount of nets used and the age of the player, so if you've been keeping track of a player, you can roughly predict when he should be popping soon.

guys let me ask a general question. what is the balance of income you guys have each week. do you need a minimun of say 50k or should you run it down to almost nothing....
Basically, as long as you're in the black it's okay. For my first few seasons or so, I'd be slightly in the red for weeks when I had away games, and then pretty highly in the black when I had home games, and as long as you're making money over a Home/Away two week period, you're doing fine. Once you start getting more money, then you can upgrade your stadium, meaning you earn more money for home games, and also, the more money in the bank the more interest you get. For example, thanks to me selling a few players and some recent home games, I'm now in the black by about 11k each week, purely due to the added interest I'm earning. Then again, that's also because I'm not investing in the youth academy.

Yeah, I aim to stay in the black all the time including non-home game weeks but that's only made possible because of the 8m in the bank and full interest.

I'd probably say that you should aim to be in the black by 10k each week, even if you don't have home game. That shouldn't be too difficult as the 55k in your Misc section of Income gives you a helping hand.

Pead's a bit behind the others in terms of training; I'm wondering if it might not be worth selling him at the end of the season and buying a better trainee at the start of the next one. Or I could use my cash pile to buy one (should have over a million by the end of the season), and just stop training Pead. Seems a bit of a waste, though; maybe I'm getting overly fixated on the differences in training times. An extra week per primary pop isn't really going to make that huge a difference in the scheme of things, I s'pose.

How long till Pead's to Strong?

Popped three weeks ago; he's on 2xbowl, so another 5-6 weeks I expect.
It's 8.6 weeks on an 18yo on 2 nets. Lets hope he is high sublevel which makes it easy to sell him in week 1 or 2 next season and get a 17yo High Respectable trainee or get a decent "older player" or to just earn interest.

Those are your 3 options basically.

Unless of course you decide to keep training him.

Well that was my suggestion, to be fair. It just seemed like Pead was lagging a bit, and I figured I might be better off selling him and starting with a better trainee (not least cos he was *rubbish* this season, for no apparent reason). But like I said earlier, I'm probably getting over-concerned about the slow-down in training times as he ages. A week here and there's no big deal, really.

I just get jealous reading the pops from people with proficient/strong 17-year-olds, that's more or less it. :D

Only one pop today, but what a pop! My first Wond player!

Doug Greening - 21 yo, BT Rating=33,479

Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: feeble

It's strange, a year or so ago I was drooling over Cuss, and now I've got a Wond player of my own, they're not that special any more. I mean I doubt Greening would make it into a CW 2nd XI? Still, he'll do me! think I'll keep him on two batting nets for next season, by which time he'll hopefully be around the Sens/Sup mark, and then I'll cut him back to one Bat one Field, so his Conc has a chance to catch up a bit.

Now have around £1.1M in the transfer kitty, but bugger me! that doesn't buy you much these days, does it? I'll carry on saving, but I think the way in which I'm going to get my limited funds to go the furthest will be to buy an oldish Sup with duff secondaries who no-one fancies, and stick him on a fielding net all season. At age 30, I got Cash from Feeb to Prof Cons in one season, so it's reasonably easy if you pick the right player.

I don't know, perhaps if I lose my playoff I won't bother buying anyone just yet, as it's not like my bowling's really been found out this season. But if I win then I'll have to replace Resp/Feeb RFM Bent as a matter of urgency, as I imagine he'll get murdered in Div III.

BTW, Could any of the clever folk amongst you give me an idea of my four or five most likely playoff opponents please? Currently I'm 61st in the Eng Div IV promotion table, and I've got a pretty easy match on Friday, so I'd imagine I might rise to 57/58th, but not too much higher than that I'd have thought.

Yeah sure. Mine or yours? I've not won a game in a while, my supporters aren't too happy with me atm.
We'll go mine then, i could do with a little bit more cash. Also i'll probably be resting my bowling attack for my playoff next week. So it could be a good chance to give Canning and Tedders some confidence at the top of the order.

Friendly anyone? I shall be playing a rather poor bowling lineup as I want to recover some of my bowlers' PFLs. Preferably an Australian.
