probably not! But i guess a win is a win...and they would settle for it!Indeed, won with a 6 as they did against Scotland. But I suspect that winning with only three and a bit overs left wasn't exactly what they had in mind.
He honestly might not make it at full strength. He'd make it now that Watson is out though.Slater just said that Kallis may not get into the Aus team. Anyone else find this pretty funny?
I'm a very long way from being a dyed-in-the-wool Kallis fan, but I'd take him ahead of Clarke or Symonds in a flash. Before the WC I'd have said Hayden too.He honestly might not make it at full strength. He'd make it now that Watson is out though.
His bowling in one day cricket is decidedly useless and I don't see him getting a place in the top 4 - nor being adaptable enough to bat anywhere else.
He'd obviously be first picked or close to in the test side though.
Not really. Personally I rate him more than Michael Clarke but considering Australia's top three and the amount of time young Clarke has to play a pressure innings there really isn't much need for Kallis in the Australian ODI set-up. Would have come in handy when Australia were put under the pump in the CB series but as I said considering what they have at the top of the order, such instances are pretty much anomalies.Slater just said that Kallis may not get into the Aus team. Well, I actually am a pretty big Kallis fan ITBT, but if I had to put my life on the result of a one day match, I wouldn't select him ahead of Clarke or Symonds. There'd be a lot more chance of me selecting him ahead of Hayden, actually, but I don't know how he'd cope opening. Selecting him ahead of Watson would be the obvious thing to do, but I don't know who'd end up batting 7. Ponting-Kallis-Clarke-Symonds-Hussey I guess.I'm a very long way from being a dyed-in-the-wool Kallis fan, but I'd take him ahead of Clarke or Symonds in a flash. Yeah, for Kallis batted quicker in the last game against the minnows Sri Lanka, what a ‘dickhead’ Kallis is.trust kallis to score quickly against a minnow..what a dickhead
Even given that, I thought it was a pretty stupid comment. The minnow countries are naturally going to have worse bowlers which will be easier to score against, and hence your natural strike rate will be higher.Yeah, for Kallis batted quicker in the last game against the minnows Sri Lanka, what a ‘dickhead’ Kallis is.
Mind me asking why? Just don't see it at all. He has a higher average than either (albeit at a lower strike rate) & his bowling is clearly a cut above Symonds's & so far ahead of Clarke's SLA as to be embarrassed by the comparison.Well, I actually am a pretty big Kallis fan ITBT, but if I had to put my life on the result of a one day match, I wouldn't select him ahead of Clarke or Symonds. Personally I don't rate Kallis's one day bowling one iota - it can useful in tests as a partnership breaker, but it's about useful in ODIs these days as **** on a bull.Mind me asking why? Exactly why are you telling me this? For I was taking the piss…Even given that, I thought it was a pretty stupid comment. The minnow countries are naturally going to have worse bowlers which will be easier to score against, and hence your natural strike rate will be higher.
Yeah I wasn't arguing with you - I was just adding to your post. I meant to quote Swervy's post before but I got sidetracked - you reminded me to comment on it. It was Swervy's comment that I felt was stupid - not yours.Exactly why are you telling me this? For I was taking the piss…
