They've been in this 3rd/4th position limbo for over a decade, I don't see anything to suggest they're going to bridge the gap - not without a change of management anyway.Liverpool's home form is championship winning form. They're halfway there.
Like Fabregas signing an 8 year contract? Yep no loyality there. That was a true team in a weaker era (they were up against the mighty Newcastle who hadn't won squat for decades when Hansen made his famous remark, if I remember rightly) and it was a bit of freak the way so many players came through anyway. CDMs' youngsters are a bunch of mixed nationality mercenaries.
I heard he was worried about condemning his immortal soul to an eternity in the fiery pits of Hades, myself. Rightly, IMHO.Saw it on Eurosport news this morning that Robinho said he turned down a move to Tottenham because they were too small of a club for him to join. Even if it is remotely true, I guess a certain poster on here would think he is a smart man.
Meaningless.Like Fabregas signing an 8 year contract? Yep no loyality there.
I'm concerned about the legality of that though. Isn't the max like 5 years?Like Fabregas signing an 8 year contract? Yep no loyality there.
So why not say the same about Anelka then? I mean if you wanted CDM, then his picture would be right next to it. And I guess Bergkamp wasn't loyal as well? More loyal then Ashley Cole will ever be.Meaningless.
What do you base that off, what's on football manager? Wayne Rooney signed a 6-year deal when he signed for your team and Pepe Reina had a even longer contract at Villerreal.I'm concerned about the legality of that though. Isn't the max like 5 years?
Yes & no; players under contract to one club have always moved to others. The real difference nowadays, of course, is players being able to move for free when their contracts expire. Back in the pre-Bosman days clubs would have to pay a fee (often set by a tribunal) for players who were out of contract.Tbf Craig, contracts are basically meaningless these days.
No, but it means if he does move we'll get top dollar for him. The length of his contract reflects his value to us & his youth (still not 20, IIRC).Yeah that's true, but Scaly's point was that just because Fabregas has signed a contract doesn't mean he'll stay for 8 years.
Still 19 until May. Amazing really as he seems he has been around a lot longer and is still that young. No, but it means if he does move we'll get top dollar for him. The length of his contract reflects his value to us & his youth (still not 20, IIRC).
Yeah, but most bug clubs have so much money nowadays that a big transfer isn't going to make too much difference in the grand scheme of things, IMO.No, but it means if he does move we'll get top dollar for him. The length of his contract reflects his value to us & his youth (still not 20, IIRC).
Don't get me wrong, I'd hate to see the boy go because there's not too many players I'd rate above him in his position. If he was to go tho I'd prefer the club to get (say) £30mill than a kick in the nads.Yeah, but most bug clubs have so much money nowadays that a big transfer isn't going to make too much difference in the grand scheme of things, IMO.
Tbf that may not apply to you lot, given your stadium move, I'm not sure.
