Don't remember many things like that last summer.Whether it's ODIs or Tests Bell seems to need a few lives to score anything substantial against non-minnows.

But you'd need 3 of him in reserve to cover for injuries in the game.No real point in that - you only need 5 of him to get through 50 overs of him, so clone him 4 times.
Oh yes, he struck Mitchell Johnson for 3 fours in one over, and took Stuart Clark apart. He really struggled against the quicks.Actually the required run rate only just went over 7 per over and given the rate at runs were scored in the game it wasn't exactly panic stations at that point. He struggled against good quick bowling - no need for explanations there really.
Like when he +hit 3 boundaries in 1 over off Mitch Johnson, one through the covers and two pull shots over mid-wicket?Actually the required run rate only just went over 7 per over and given the rate at runs were scored in the game it wasn't exactly panic stations at that point. Yeah, they may as well rest him for the next game anyway...we'll get dicked with or without himThat's great news. Though they should rest hm for the next few games, even if he feels fine. The WC is much more important.
Not a silly idea re Cumming. I'm gutted the McCullum experiment has failed so miserably. I really thought he was going to fire this series but at least we know how handy he can be down the order. It's not all doom and gloom though, the return of the 3 injured players will make a big difference. Then we can discard guys like Adams, Franklin and McMillan who are liabilities at the momentI see that Craig Cumming hit 46 today, to go with his two hundreds in the past weeks. He's in the best limited overs form of his career, and the BCs need an opener. He also played adequately in the tests against SL, which probably boosted his confidence. I hope they give him a chance to fill the biggest hole in our ODI team.
Yes, I'm aware he has a terrible ODI record, but at the time he hadn't even scored a limited overs century; he was thrown in to the OD team as one of Bracewell's hare-brained schemes, totally unready for the challenge. I think he may be ready this time.
McCullum's had his turn at the top and failed to impress. Send him back down the order so we can release that waste of space - Craig McMillan. This would allow Fleming to bat at three, rather than be promoted to replace McCullum.
We've had a history of trying openers that have failed. It's no real surprise McCullum failed. Add him to the list. Not a silly idea re Cumming. Pick a player in form? Pick a player... gasp... in the position he plays domestically? You've lost it!I see that Craig Cumming hit 46 today, to go with his two hundreds in the past weeks. What else did you see today Will? Did you also see that Oram hit a run a ball 70, with the majority of his runs singles or twos. Did you also see that Oram has taken 2 wickets so far. If Oram is "over-rated" and Cumming is the next best option for the Black Caps, why has Cumming scored less than Oram in the match.I see that Craig Cumming hit 46 today, to go with his two hundreds in the past weeks. Guess what? I did notice that. Hey, I'm not unhappy with Oram's efforts today, but that's only one match. Let's hope he continues in that form though. What else did you see today Will?
