I can't believe that is a real graphic.
I don’t see the point in trying to create a partnership that’s a bit over a run a ball between de kock and vdd they should be trying to smoke it every over from the beginning and hit out or get out. India showed the way their last couple of games even though against weaker opponents. And a couple of shots later, the run rate is 7.5, then 8.5 the next over. Funny that.
Good partnerships immediately fix the problem. To say nothing of the assumption that the batsmen could score more if only they opted to.
Which is why I said "intent", it won't necessarily come off but at least look the part and go hard at it.And a couple of shots later, the run rate is 7.5, then 8.5 the next over. Funny that.

They played him on the last tour in 2019-20.Have England faced Nortje before? Don't remember off by heart

Imagine watching this, one of the best first innings of the entire tournament, and somehow thinking it'd be better if they tossed all their wickets away in the first 5 overs.Even with the slow start looks like South Africa will get to a very good score still.

Getting in and then hitting is how people post big totals in every form of limited overs cricket there's ever been. Get a grip.
Anyways.Why a run fest?
South Africa have a much better attack than batting order I would think.
England have a better batting lineup than bowling on paper, especially given the injuries, but that's not how their tournament has gone.
