Bit harsh to say marnus was the only one who didn't want it, innit? Marsh and head both gave similar answers when asked by the media and green gave the PR speak "Ohh #4 is my position domestically but I'll fill whatever role the team needs" no.
That wasn't PR speak though, that was legitimately what was going to happen before Smith suggested opening.

Bancroft: 497 runs @ 62.12 (2 100's, 2 50's)
Renshaw: 403 runs @ 44.77 (3 50's)
Harris: 374 runs @ 46.75 (1 100, 1 50)
Labuschagne: 134 runs @ 67.00 (1 100)

Looking at the stats while there have been bowlers who have legitimately done well there's been a lot of batters who have absolutely made hay. Pitches have generally been total roads.
