Also, Mashrafe bin Mortaza is returning. He looked Test-class to me before his injury. Not a bad bowling line-up actually. Especially when they add Enamul Haque Jr. (sp, wossname), that very young spinner who had England ****ing their pants a year ago. Not very balanced, with 3 spinners and a seamer, but they will have to play to their own strengths to stand a chance. A couple of decent batsmen wouldn't hurt either.

Afrab Ahmad is a more than capable seamer, especially against Zim's batting lineup.

Javed Omar
Nafis Iqbal
Habibul Bashar
Mohammed Ashraful
Rajin Saleh
Aftab Ahmad
Khaleh Mashud
Qazi Manzural
Mohammed Rafique
Enamul Haque
Mashrafe Mortaza

Not really the worst bowling lineup, but the batting worries me immensely.

That's an exaggeration at best.
He didn't look the worst, but at no stage did anyone really look in too much trouble against him the way some did with Rafique.

Bangladesh have nothing remotely close to Test-class (except, that is, their wicketkeeper and there are plenty of people around The World like Mashud - excellent wicketkeepers, nowhere near good enough batsmen to get noticed).

Rafique has declined in recent times - up to the end of the England series he was a Test bowler par excellence.
But he didn't even come close to making-up for the woeful inadequecies of his teammates.

rafique isn't up to test standard? rana and haque jr both look like decent test bowlers to me aswell.

In five tests if you average 40 I dont think you hae declined. Any one can have a bad phase and Rafique has been excellent for most of his career..

Well, all right, then - he's been sub-par of late.
Let's wait and see if he can build again on the NZ Tests against India.

Richard you poo, the only reason his stats are so bad (from your link) is because of that one bowling innings against the Windies!!

Rafique is a legend, Rana and Haque look pretty good, and I seriously rate Mortaza. He generates good pace and bounce and occasionally some movement. I hope he stands up (though India are in amazing touch...).

I have alway Rafique to be of good class. But it bewilder me why he was dropped and missed so many tests in between.. !?

Whether he is out of form or not, I still think hes a test standard bowler. Im sure hw would into the England team, especially if Giles' recent form wasnt so good.

of course rafique is not going to average well, how often does he have bowlers at the other end taking wickets ?

IMO there's nothing to seperate them.
They're both extremely good bowlers on turners, and being fingerspinners are no real use on non-turners.
