well good initiative...mine prolly is something like this for Sri Lanka.

Dimuth Karunaratne (34)
Charith Asalanka (25) *Yet to play Test cricket. Was in the final XV for the Pallakale Test vs England as a result of an injury to Chandi*
Dhananjaya De Silva (31)
Kusal Mendis (27)
Dinesh Chandimal (33) *will still be the captain*
Sadeera Samrawickrema (wk) (27)
Akila Dananjaya (29)
Nishan Pieris (25)
Lahiru Kumara (25)
Asitha Fernando (25)

I sense a line-up like this.

Moreover someone like Sandaken(31) will remain relevant. Ambuldeniya who has lots of FC wickkets, could also come in handy as a SLA

Difficult to see Dilruwan Perera (40) in the Test team by 2022, or for that matter Pushpakumara.

Don't see a long term role for someone like Dickwella. He should only play LOIs. We lose all the reviews in the first hour's play of a Test. So no thanks, and his reckless batting to go with it:sleep: So I think Sadeera who's handy bat in FC would come good in the years to come.

Mathews (35) is already on a decline. I guess it'd be surprising to see him in the Test squad in four years time. I don't doubt his quality, but considering his fitness issues, and the not so good recent form, I doubt if he can find a place in our test team in 4 years time. But then again his presence can't be completely discarded either, knowing his overall quality as a batsman.

As far as the batters are concerned, following players could also come in handy.

Pathum Nissanka (24)
Sammu Ashan (24)
Kamindu Mendis (24)

Reasonably happy with this still. Lyon might still be in the side and on around 500 wickets in 2012.

Waiting for KPatt to become the batsman he should.

8 changes from current, yikes.

Only H Nicholls and maybe M Santner currently playing and likely still on top of their game in 2022 that I have left out. Going to be some churn.

Shami and Ishant might not last long. Iyer and Pant will get into the team while the rest remain the same but with powers on the wane.
Has been Shaw for Iyer so far, with the rest holding fine. Obvs not a Einsteinic prediction.

Lol that was a bit tongue in cheek but it seriously wouldn't surprise me if he was still taking 40+ test wickets a year in 3 years time

What's the oldest seamer in tests btw? Can't imagine there's too many older than anderson since 1960
