how old is Burgeinho's coach. could they be a fariytale dual debut
Berto's only 22 or 23. Bloke is a gun. He's captaining firsts already and this year broke Parramatta run scoring records which have stood for decades. He played a Second XI match and was on 70 odd but pulled a hammy. With Carters retiring he might be an outside shot at a Bl00s call up if Nev got injured. There's obvously plenty of good players around, but he's a proper gun player at first grade level.

If James Pattinson bats at seven for Australia in a test match I'll eat my other shoe
Doubt it will happen but it might. Starc and Cummins are very handy guys with the willow in their hands too.

1. David Warner (35)
2. Matt Renshaw (26)
3. Travis Head * (28)
4. Steve Smith (32)
5. Hilton Cartwright (30)
6. Peter Handscomb + (31)
7. James Pattinson (32)
8. Mitchell Starc (32)
9. Pat Cummins (29)
10. Josh Hazlewood (31)
11. Nathan Lyon (34)

12. Mitchell Marsh (30)
13. Austin Waugh (22)
14. Joel Paris (29)
15. Mitchell Swepson (28)
16. Burgeinho

Smith to have had enough of the captaincy by the end of the 2021/22 Ashes, imo.
5 bowlers and Handscomb as keeper?

Would be surprised if Smith resigns the captaincy so young. Could happen in another country granted but it's reasonably rare that players play on after they resign the captaincy in Australia.
Five bowlers would not surprise me and that is what I'm predicting as well; I mean, we don't have anyone yet who is good enough for the batting all-rounder no. 6 role and Pattinson, Starc and Cummins are players I definitely back to make solid contributions and it will increase our chances of taking 20 wickets in a match. You're dead set correct thought that Handscomb won't be the first choice keeper. And Smith will still be the captain I think too.

1. Matt Renshaw
2. David Warner
3. Steve Smith
4. Peter Handscomb
5. Travis Head
6. Matthew Wade (+)
7. Pat Cummins
8. Mitchell Starc
9. James Pattinson
10. Josh Hazlewood
11. Mitchell Swepson

No. 1 Test mantle will be ours by this time.

dan's team is a real dad's army but a good team on paper

don't reckon the entire quarter will make it to then without injury sadly, hopefully they can though

Sounds like Archer wants to play for England. So he is possible.

Cook will be hanging on trying to beat Tendulkar's run record. Stokes may well be a busted flush by then given how much we play and his injury record. Bowling is a complete guess as I don't see any of the current side still being around in 5 years time. We have lots of good young players just not sure I have picked the right ones in my side.
Good side. Not sure about Archer though, last I heard (about 2 weeks ago) he hadn't decided his future yet and it's a really difficult decision. Maybe I'll put him in my West Indies team as well just to be difficult!

Windies 2022 team:

Kraigg Braithwaite
Evin Lewis
Darren Bravo
Shai Hope
Royston Chase
Shimron Hetmeyer
Sunil Ambris (wk)
Jason Holder
Rakheem Cornwall
Alzarri Joseph
Oshane Thomas

So not too dissimilar because our current team is so young. Of course at the rate our board falls out with players it might be unrecognisable so we'll see.

gonna shake my predicted team up a little. now that will young is tonning up batting out of position for NZ A instead of scoring 70s on green decks im daring to believe again. i don't think he'll bat #4 in reality tho, it looks clear they're grooming him to open the batting. rachin is a natural opener and they're putting him in the middle order for NZ A so i don't know what's up with that.

jeet raval
rachin ravindra (5)
kane williamson
will young
henry nicholls
tim seifert
dane cleaver (wk)
nathan smith (2)
tim southee (3)
lockie ferguson (4)
trent boult (1)

surprise dropping - tom latham after one soft drive on 40 too many (this is mainly me still grizzling after his first test dismissal). nathan smith is given new ball duties due to his ability to send it both ways. southee becomes the tight third seamer using his height and off cutter along with the natural outswinger.

retired - taylor, watling, wagner, lord colin

Was always a bit optimistic to have all four of the pace quartet playing :p

Turner, Patterson and Whiteman not looking good. Otherwise I think it's pretty solid.

I chose Marcus Harris which is looking decent right now. Xavier Bartlett might find it difficult.
