I’ve got Maximas on ignoreIs is now a libertarian thing to not read the previous page of the thread?
I knew that Ross Edwards played Packer WSC 1977-79 so this didn't sound right. Checking I found that he only played his first test at 29 in1972 and was in and out of the team until 1975 (played 20 tests). He was never selected in the post-WSC unified team of 1979/80 where he still played FC that season at 37, so don't think he qualifies? Not absolutely certain but reckon Paul Sheahan & Ross Edwards retired early because of there being better money outside cricket in the mid 70s
I think Sheahan did. A lot of fringe international and domestic Australian cricketers then had very short first class careers then due to being amateurs. If people are going to mention Dexter and de Villiers then Alan Davidson is worth a shot toot, quit at 32 citing money and family reasons, although I've read injuries were beginning to mount up too.Not absolutely certain but reckon Paul Sheahan & Ross Edwards retired early because of there being better money outside cricket in the mid 70s
