for the role of leg spinner Smith is right up there as Sami is in the role of fast bowler I thinkSmith has no place in one of these teams. Cam White - for the role he was selected in - arguably does, though.
I always wondered which role he was actually selected for. He batted at eight in his Test appearances, and doesn't even bowl himself let alone the selectors thinking that Ponting would turn to him.Smith has no place in one of these teams. Harsh on Mallender I feel. He was a fine county pro who was a clear horse-for-courses selection on a green Headingley wicket and did his job quite superbly. Second cap was a selection too far of course but not embarrassingly so. Admittedly not an international class player in normal conditions but at least did a job very well when called upon.Well there you go HDS, our posts crossed and Paul Taylor is on one side of the line or the other. You're probably right I suppose. Ilott was a good county bowler (and a serious player at club level I happen to know) but was pretty conclusively proved to be out of his depth as a Test player. I suppose there are others one could draft in though. Neil Mallender, Neil Williams, Joey Benjamin. Christ, we are well catered for in the crap Test bowler department aren't we?
Manou's a bloody good keeper too. He's probably not a test #7 (certainly not a six), but his glovework looked a cut above Haddin's & Paine's in the one test he got in 2009.Sticking to those who debuted since 1990.
1. Wayne Philips (Vic)
2. Phil Hughes
3. Martin Love
4. Stuart Law
5. Shaun Young
6. Graeme Manou
7. Phil Emery
8. Paul McIntyre
9. Brad Williams
10. Scott Muller
11. Simon Cook
For a worst XI you've got some pretty good quality players. The Hughes, Love and Law are all damn good, and the middle's only bad as its got 2 keepers in it. Bowling looks pretty dire though.
I see you're banking on our NZ contingent being raptured?James Franklin
Abey Kuruvilla and Debashish Mohanty...........btw,doing a Indian one will be tough .
Many bad players have played for us(specially bowlers and all rounders) over the years.
True, indeed. Let me give it a shot!btw, doing a Indian one will be tough .

Hand in your man card. If you stick your neck out, don't retract so easily. You're not a tortoise.Worst current World XI?
Edit: Yeah, that was harder than I thought. Don't wanna go round making it look like I think people's fave players are **** when I think they're just okay. Not a fun line of thought tbh.
It wasn't so much that, it just wasn't a good post.Hand in your man card. If you stick your neck out, don't retract so easily. You're not a tortoise.
What about that pace bowler who played one test in 1996? Can't recall his name, but his only test wicket was that of Michael Slater, and led to Slats being dropped.True, indeed. Let me give it a shot!
1) W V Raman

7) Sameer Dighe (+)
8) Aashish Kapoor
9) Rajesh Chauhan
10) Balwinder Sandhu

Additional notes:
-- Madhav Mantri (Sunny's uncle) could keep as well, but I decided to include him as the specialist opener. Dighe is the keeper to further weaken both the departments!
-- Syed Abid Ali was a good ODI player and a couple of players here were very good at f/c level. Only their test performances have been kept in mind here. Abid Ali is to be looked at predominantly as a batsman in this line-up. He'd be the 5th bowling option.
