Well that’s not that surprising. The throwing events are the minority in Decathlon and Heptathlon iirc, and the physiques and skills required for jumping/running are far more aligned than those for the throwing.I think a lot of the good multi-eventers have one or two events they could compete with the specialists in but it's never any of the throwing events! They are usually a long way from elite in those.
That's the part that's wrong. Can someone explain the 15m swimming pool rule that the British guy got disqualified for?
What advantage does a swimmer have by staying under water for longer as I would have thought you'd move quicker when above and in your stroke?
800m is by far my favorite Athletics event to watch. It's so middle distance, with all the compeling elements that brings.Just wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate the demise of Greco-Roman Wrestling.
Also @RossTaylorsBox, what is your beef with Men's 800m? Did Seb Coe, or David Rudisha hurts on some level?
I watched that totally bemused. I think it was the Omnium race they called itCycling can be a bit weird, French guy last night fell off his bike and got lapped 3 times. Never made those laps back up but still won the race.
Tessa Sanderson and Barbora Špotáková were both multi eventers who then decided to just stick to throwing (javelin) Both then won an Olympic goldsI think a lot of the good multi-eventers have one or two events they could compete with the specialists in but it's never any of the throwing events! She only competed in the Pentathlon at a Junior level lolTessa Sanderson and Barbora Špotáková were both multi eventers who then decided to just stick to throwing (javelin) Both then won an Olympic golds
The only trampoline event should be who can jump the highest.Equestrian has to go, as its outdated and reeks of animal cruelty.
Boxing should 100% be binned, given the brutality of it and that the scoring is corrupt. Plus olympics is amateur boxing with amateur rules, so its not the pinnacle at all when we already have professional boxing.
Mens football doesn't belong either.
3x3 basketball is a bit of a joke.
Pentathlon.
Trampoline Gymnastics along with other super subjective and ultra fringe games, where scoring doesn't make a lot of sense.
Synchronised Swimming
Synchronised Diving / cut down on diving events
Mixed Walking Relay
Cut down on breaststroke and backstroke events. Absolutely no reason to have 200m events in these. 100 m events are sufficient. If they are going to have so much backstroke swimming, then might as well have backward running in athletics. Who can run backwards the fastest? lol
200 Individual Medley with 50m of each stroke doesn't belong when most strokes don't have 50 metre events in the olympics. 400 IM is absolutely sufficient.
Table Tennis "Team events", just have mens doubles and womens doubles.
Breaking is thankfully out for good.
Repechage in Rowing and Canoeing has to be binned/significantly reduced. Sick of seeing Quarter Final G, Quarter Final H, Semi final E, Semi final F, and then Final D, Final C , Final B.... Stick to A Finals, A-B Semi finals.
Fencing has to be cut down. Its so outdated and cringe.
Sailing - some mixed events should go.
In 1996, they had 270 events. Probably need to be go back to those numbers again. 50-60 events too many at the moment.
She did the heptathlon in the 1981 European cup as a senior. Came 4th I think. She was also the UK and Commonwealth record holder at that time. She only competed in the Pentathlon at a Junior level lol
Yeah I hate when they make me watch all the sportsEquestrian has to go, as its outdated and reeks of animal cruelty.

But they do make you watch!Yeah I hate when they make me watch all the sports
tbh I’ve only watched non-streaming in the past few years with the Ashes and State of Origin since they’re exclusively on Nine. (still watch them through their free online viewing, my house doesn’t have a TV connected to those old fangled channels)Invest in a streaming service gramps
It'd still be a challenge to have one foot touching the ground at all times.Replace Race Walking with Race W@nking
