Difference being that's a ref **** up, not blatant cheating.
What about the Irish chap three metres in front of the ref raising his arm appealing for nothing?Difference being that's a ref **** up, not blatant cheating.
*Points at any other game of soccer, showing players throwing arms up appealing for nothing*What about the Irish chap three metres in front of the ref raising his arm appealing for nothing?
Right. Sportspeople cheat all the time, whether Irish hurlers, French strikers, NZ number eights, Australian props or Saffa flankers. Struggle to see the difference between this and an unfair tackle which isn't given as a free kick tbh...it should be seen, but it wasn't, and there really is no other option but to carry on.*Points at any other game of soccer, showing players throwing arms up appealing for nothing*
"I don't blame him as much as how it's not seen to be honest."
Yeah agreed, dire as it is, footballers are always told to play to the whistle, and can hardly be blamed for continuing if the referee fails to blow up.Agree with Samuel. Horrendous bit of cheating as it obviously was, it goes on in every football game. Anelka's dive a few minutes before was roughly on a par, it was just that the ref called the decision right.
I feel gutted for the Irish, but the real injustice is why football doesn't have video replays which could sort this kind of grubby cheating out very simply.
French in "not popular with other nations" non-shocker.There is an oddly disproportionate amount of worldwide rage at the incident. I don't think Henry did anything any other player wouldn't do, but it's hard for people to take such a massive and crucial injustice with nothing being done about it.
Ha, would never claim otherwise. In fact I'm convinced we only got the Olympics because it was us or the French in the final round of voting. Slightly lesser of two evils.Indeed. Rich coming from an Englishman though
Nah, respect the Germans. We've had to get the cane out of the cupboard and give Jerry a damn good thrashing a couple of times when he got ideas above his station, but they're at least having a go.Germany ftw.
